Beautiful sunny day today.  It is a little cool out but I think it is going to be a great day.

I have an appointment with the Dentist this morning.  Not looking forward to it but my tooth has an infection and doesn’t feel very good.  I know about what is going to happen, they will take an X-ray then tell me it is infected and then give me some anti-biotic to get rid of the infection, then I will have to come back to have it pulled.  Well, it worked almost like I said but when I come back she is just going to look at it then make an appointment to have it pulled.  My dentist back in Rock Falls would have pulled it that day. I kind of liked him, he didn’t mess around.

Well I stopped at the pharmacy and got my Z-Pac(?) and went on home.  The tooth bothered me a little yesterday but today it feels pretty decent.  I decided to split a little wood.  I think I split at least three pieces. The wood split quite well!  I don’t have much more to split but sure have a lot to burn.  One of these days I will get a fire started.

Went into work at one today and it started out OK then they started coming in.  A lady was in her car by the propane tank and I asked if she needed propane but she was waiting for three rigs to come in.  She had driven her car ahead of them.  I got her registered so I would only have two more to do, well, another one came in then the other two and they had the drive plugged.  The first one to come in was the slowest.  I checked in the other two before them so all this time the driveway was plugged.  If you have ever run a credit card machine you know it is hooked to a phone line right? Well, you can’t use the phone and the credit card machine at the same time.  I’ve never had this happen before but I tried to run a credit card and the phone would ring, couldn’t answer the phone and the machine wouldn’t work. Phone would stop ringing and the machine would dial then the phone would ring and this went on for about five minutes, guess I would have been ahead just to answer the phone.  Finally got them checked in and Mark parked them.  I actually kept kind of busy for the next couple of hours.  Oh, the first three rigs that came in, two were pulling some really unique vehicles… beautiful…

I guess this is why the lady was driving her car!

Well, the rest of the day went pretty smooth. Got all my cleaning done and then the bookwork went pretty good except for the guy that came in at closing to get a tank of propane filled.  Kind of messed me up a little, but not to bad.

When I got home Linda had fixed Mexican Spaghetti!  Love Mexican Spaghetti!!  When I get off at seven it gets dark pretty fast so I don’t have a chance to do much outside.  Maybe tomorrow I will be able to mow the lawn,  well, if it doesn’t rain. I don’t think it is supposed to but the weather is forecasting another four inches this weekend, give or take.

This should be a nice quiet evening, I know I will be kind of tired so will try to stay awake for the weather, kind of made it but dozed through some of the broadcast….Night Y’all….

Guess what???  The sun is shining!!!

The water is still rising and a couple of levees have broken and a lot more have breeched so the flood is getting worse, the Mississippi River and the Ohio Rivers are over flood stage and still rising.  If I’m not mistaken the Mississippi is going to crest at over twenty feet over flood stage.  The Corp of Engineers are contemplating blowing up some of the canals and that would flood about 130,000 acres of land!   HMMM!  I think I would think that over but they say the alternative, if it happens to break on it’s own, is to flood a couple hundred thousand acres.  Oh well, God is in control.

Work today went well, I mowed most of the day and only had a couple of mishaps, lost one of the deck wheels and it got pretty well chewed up. Then I couldn’t find the bushing for about an hour.  Found it about ten feet away from where the wheel was.  Then the bolts for the back wheels are shorter than the ones for the front wheels so I had to go buy a couple more then it went pretty good until I got to the push mower.  By the time I got done with that my knees were pretty sore.  I’ll take some Advil when I get home.

Getting home was a little different, I knew they had closed the road I usually take but didn’t realize they close it all the way back to I-55!  I made it home about 6;30 PM.  Linda fixed some salmon for supper.  That was really good.  We don’t have salmon except for the patties and this sure tastes a lot different!   I really like it, will have to get more of that.

Morehouse MO has been evacuated and now Canalou MO has been giving the order to evacuate and that is where Jim and June live.  He called later that night to let us know where they were.  They went to Sikeston to June’s sister’s home.  They will stay until he figures it is safe to head back home.  I turned the camper around and hooked up the tow dolly just in case.  You just don’t know and it is good to be prepared.

Linda is going to stay up tonight to watch the “Royal Wedding” and I am going to go to bed…..Night Y’all…

Got up this morning and it looks like it could rain!!  I wondered what I would do at work today because I usually mow, at least until Grant gets out of school.

Well, Mark called about 8:30AM and said if I wanted to take the day off it would be OK because it looked a lot like rain.  He was right we did get some rain.  I got some picture of our yard and some ominous clouds!!

After the cloud above was just about where it is the wind shifted from South to North and the temperature dropped about five degrees.  We got a hard rain for about five minutes then the sun came out!!  Beautiful sunshine!!

I had been out trying to split some more wood when Linda told be about the storm in the pictures above so I had to stop and take pictures.  I did split two more pieces of wood but this wood kind of soaks up moisture.  When I started splitting the wood the water in the wood was amazing, kind of like a sponge.  It soaked up a lot of water!  I think when it warms up it will dry out though.

Anyway, we had some ham sandwiches for supper and took it easy the rest of the night.  I forgot, this is Wednesday I could have gone to church tonight!!  I think I must be losing it, forgot about church, well, I haven’t gone to church on Wednesday night since we got back from Texas!  I work Wednesdays and that kind of rules out church night.

Took it easy tonight and watched some HGTV, I still think that is interesting, I also watched some of the cooking channel, “Throw Down” with Bobby Flay.  That was interesting.

Seems like it has been raining for a long time. Well, guess it has, not forty days and nights but seems like it.  It does quit long enough to dry out a little and then it rains again.

I work in the office this afternoon.  It has slowed down somewhat and it gets a little boring but I guess I can handle that.

I started my cleaning at work and about half way through I saw a big motor home come in and figured I better get back to the office.  Before I got to the office another one came in.  They pretty much filled up the driveway.  I checked them in and before I finished parking them three more came in, they were traveling together.  One was still in Texarkana with problems with his coach.  I got them parked, very nice people…

They all went to Lambert’s together. There were ten people.  I didn’t get to talk to them after they came back and didn’t get a picture of them before they left.

I got a picture the other day when we went to Jim and June’s.  I thought that I would insert this now, probably should have done it earlier…

This is all farm ground.  Pretty well flooded but if it warms up and the sun comes out and the wind blows, as usual, they will probably be back in the fields in a week.  The drainage ditches are full and so is the Mississippi River that they flow into.  May take longer than a week.

The rest of the day at work went well, I think that they quit coming in about 4PM so I got my book work done early and was ready to leave at 7PM, right on time.

Linda had supper ready and we just relaxed the rest of the night.  Had a nice evening…Night Y’all…

Monday April 25th 2011

Guess what??  It’s going to be another rainy day.  It isn’t raining this morning but I’m sure it won’t be long.

The fields have water standing in them and the ditches are full.  I think the ground is pretty well saturated with more rain on the way.

We went over to Jim and June’s this morning.  Had coffee and donuts and just caught up on what is going on in their lives and our lives.  Like to get together with them once in awhile.  We like Jim and June.

Linda isn’t feeling very good and she has a Dr appointment this afternoon.  She is going to lay down and take a nap. Sparky did well in his cage while we were gone, not that we know for sure, but he is OK now anyway.

Linda’s appointment was for 3PM and we made it there a little early.  She got her hearing test done and the Dr said she as lost more of her hearing, probably from nerve damage.  She ordered new hearing aids and the Dr said the ones she has now must have been pretty good to last for nine years.  I sure hope the new ones do the trick.  I can tell her hearing is getting worse, she can’t hear a lot of what I say, well, maybe she doesn’t want to, do you think???

After her appointment we went to Wally World to get a few things.  I need ear plugs for mowing.  My ears have been ringing constantly for about four or five years now, I’m kind of used to it.

Sparky did well again in the cage.  Linda fixed a pizza for supper, DeGiorno, which was very good.  She forgot to take the cardboard off the bottom which made the crust a little soft but I liked it that way.

The TV is all about the coming storms.  I thought about taking an hour or so and mowing the lawn, not the ditch, it’s still full of water, but I think I could have mowed the lawn though.  It is really dark off to the West and they are talking tornados and hail and wind and lots of rain.  Well, it took awhile for it to get here but we got a LOT of rain.  Windy but not bad enough to wreck anything.

I think we may just take it easy again tonight.  I have been having problems with my right knee.  Not sure if it is bad but will have to make an appointment with a Dr to get it checked out.  I’m to young for a knee replacement!!  Anyway, will say….Night Y’all….

Sunday morning Easter Sunday morning.  The church is having a sunrise service at 6AM  which is a little early for me  but could be worse.  I was awake and could’ve gone but I figured three trips into town was just a little to many.  When I got to church I found out there wasn’t any evening service so I could have gone to the sunrise service.  Maybe next year.

I sat with Cuma at church.  We bought our home from Cuma and she is a special friend.  One of these days I will get a picture of her and put on the blog.  I will have to get some other pictures of the members because I know a couple of them from a few years ago.

Well, it is still raining, and some times we get storms with lots of rain!

Not sure if I had put this picture in the blog or not but our ditch is quite deep and has filled with water quite a few times.  It will soak about half of it up  then rain like crazy and fill it up again.  The field in front of our house isn’t to bad but the next one looks like a lake.  We are supposed to have rain for the next two or three days.  Everything is already saturated.  Wonder if we are going to have a dry summer???

Not much going on here at home, just a nice relaxing evening.  Storms knock out our satellite so we miss some of the programs.

Today is Saturday and Mark is going to come and till up a garden for us. It is pretty wet but guess that will be OK, our soil is pretty sandy.  I marked off a spot that was about 24x48 feet.  I have plans for this after the garden. Guess what??  Mark came and roto tilled the garden and I didn’t take a picture!!   I can’t believe it, I had the camera with me and everything!!  Well, I got a picture of the tractor after he was done…

That tractor made it look easy.  I probably would have worked a week or more using my roto tiller!  Then I got a picture of the garden, actually later in the day…

We got some rain!!!  Kind of glad I didn’t have anything to plant.  I will have to get plants and seeds Monday, maybe.

At work today it was really slow.  Mark and Kim kind of did something that really surprised me…..

Baby chicks!!   Kim said Mark has always wanted chickens so they bought fifteen chicks.  I had seen them at the store and was tempted but not enough to buy any…

There are about four or five different kinds in there.  They sure are cute when they are small.  They sure are messy!

Well, it really stormed this afternoon.  The wind blew like crazy and I bet we got over an inch of rain in a short period of time.  There went my nice roto tilled garden!  I will have to use my little tiller to loosen it up again but that is a lot easier than trying to till up sod!

Linda fixed a ham tonight and we had that with potato salad and apple sauce.   Excellent.  We bought a shank or something like that.  I think they have more taste than most other hams!

Well, we are listening to the thunder and watching the TV go out, Linda missed her movie so she stayed up later, it was on again and got to see the last of it.  Not me I was way to tired  Time for some sleep.   Night Y’all…

After the workout yesterday I don’t have to go into work until one this afternoon.  Time to relax a little. Glad I got the yard mowed last night, rain, rain and more rain….

I just had to take a picture of the Iris.  They are beautiful but only last a short while.  We don’t have very many either.

At work today Grant’s girl friend came in to the office to pick up a dress.  I got a picture of her then one of Grant and Kaylee..

I think they make a very nice couple.

I have been looking a pictures in the office so I took a picture of the pictures.

This picture of Mr Green Jeans and Cletus was take in April 2003!  Mark had just started, well, was just finishing up putting in the new sites.  I tried taking another picture from about the same spot…

Eight years later….  I also took a picture of a picture of the park before this was started…

The bottom center of the picture is where the new sites went.  He doesn’t have a new picture of the park.  If I’m not mistaken he put in thirty one new sites in that area for a total of fifty eight.  The right side and upper part of the picture is the mobile home park.  Grant gets to mow that, well, sometimes I get to help.

Had another pretty slow day at work.  The snow birds have pretty much gone north now and it is quiet again.

Took it easy this evening, not much going on so I won’t talk about that… Night Y’all….

It is kind of chilly this morning and cloudy but not raining so that means I will be mowing grass today.  I like that!  I don’t mind mowing.  Not real good if it is real hot and windy but that isn’t today.

I got to work at nine and got the blade sharpened on the push mower because I know that I will have to use it today.  The last time it really didn’t do a good job at all, kind of laid the grass over and now it is about a foot tall. I walked across the street to Ag-Mart and picked up some bolts for the mower deck, one of the wheels fell off and I fixed that.  My first job was with the push mower.  There are some places that are hard to get to and the push mower works the best.  It is set at the highest setting and it doesn’t do a very good job but that’s how the boss wants it.  When I started mowing his parents site, Mary Lou stopped me and asked me to set it down a little so it would look like I mowed it.  I said OK and wow, what a difference.  It looked great, probably with the sharp blade and a little closer to the ground, it did an excellent job, well, looked better anyway.  Another notch lower would probably make it look better.

The rest of the day I used the rider until Grant got out of school and he finished the rest of the mobile home park.  There wasn’t a lot left for him to do.

When I got home I got the mower started and mowed our lawn and the neighbors lawn.  It was almost dark when I finished.  Sure glad I got it done. It is growing fast enough that it should be mowed twice a week.  I may have to do that but we get so much rain it is hard to do.  I would like to have waited until tomorrow to mow but it is supposed to rain and that would really have been a mess.

Linda fixed fajitas for supper, excellent.  We had a couple of chicken breasts left over from supper last night and she used them.  I ate three and we still have leftovers for tomorrow!!  COOL!

We watch HGTV tonight.  House hunters.  I like that show for some reason but I sure had a hard time staying awake.  Time for bed…Night Y’all…

What a storm last night, we didn’t get it bad but some places close around us did!  We just got a lot of rain and now the wind is out of the north and pretty chilly.  I think it is down in the 40s and that is just a little to chilly for me, but I guess I will just have to put up with it.

It isn’t raining this morning so I imagine I will have to mow (I like mowing) at work.  The grass is still wet but it is growing like crazy.  I think the fertilizer I put on a couple of weeks ago is doing its thing!  I mowed all day.  In fact I only took a half hour for lunch and went back to work.  I was trying to get the pull through sites done so if campers come in I wouldn’t have to bother them.  Well, got some done but not the right ones, Oh well.  I will get them later.   Worked until five thirty and got all the campground sites done except the ones I have to do with the push mower.  Maybe I will get that tomorrow if it doesn’t rain.

Linda fixed baked chicken tonight with sweet potato and salad.  Excellent! I think that she will use the left over chicken to make fajitas tomorrow.  That sounds good too.

I baked some banana bread which turned out very good, I don’t bake banana bread very often, that is my brothers thing, but this turned out well, Linda had a great recipe!

Not much going on tonight, I haven’t gotten the computer out so will post this tomorrow (I’m writing it tomorrow!). Time to say adios amigo!  Night Y’all…..

The days off sure go fast!  Back to work again today! 

This morning I decided to split some more wood.  Got my wedges stuck again but used the Mighty Mac to help out a little.  This wood sure is hard to split.  I split three pieces today and the amount of large pieces is getting smaller.  This sure isn’t good wood.  Some of the stumps are already decaying!  Of course there are new shoots starting out of the same stump! One of these days I will get another fire started.  It will take a long time to burn the stumps and the wood that is to big to split.

It is warm out today!  We are supposed to get some bad weather some time, hopefully it won’t be to bad.

Work, well, was very slow.  Wish that I could be out mowing.  I only had four campers come in today.  Got all my work and cleaning done and didn’t have anything else to do.  The wind was blowing pretty hard so once in awhile I would go outside and pick up some trash that was blowing around.

The bad weather made it here this evening and all evening the TV had updates for the weather.  It was on all  evening!  No shows tonight, in fact they announced at 10PM who was eliminated from the Dancing With The Stars show.  They did apologize though.

Anyway, that was a nice quiet evening, the wind blew and the rain fell, a lot of rain fell but no really bad weather here.  Time to hit the bed… Night Y’all..

Today so far it is pretty nice, a little cool but pretty nice.  Have a lot of things I want to do today, going to start with splitting a couple of pieces of wood.  This is sure hard work!!  Had a lot of problems with one piece…

I now have two wedge stuck and no split yet!!

Well, now I have all three wedges stuck and a hatchet!!!  It started splitting but it still is really tight!   HMMMM  Well, I had to get my broken maul out and I used it  I finally got it done but it was sure a lot of work!!

Not sure how long this took but with a little perseverance and a lot of sweat it finally came apart!

After all that work I did a couple other things like fix one garage door opener that hasn’t worked since we moved here.  I’m not sure what I did but it works now.  I think I had to hit the reset button.  We don’t use that door anyway but we have the remote opener and it may as well work!

Kind of worked on our security light.  It won’t come on without hitting the pole so I moved some of the wires and now it works fine, well, it did tonight anyway.

We went into town to get groceries and a few other things.  Linda got to meet Bits.  Linda likes her, she is actually very nice.

I took a little nap this afternoon, after spending all that money I was tired.

I tried to install an anti virus program and it won’t work on the pc. I’m just going to unhook the internet and we will use my laptop for Skype and the internet.  I also tried to download Skype and I think it worked but we won’t use it.  Linda has her own email address now also, it is,  lindypindy46@yahoo.com  Not sure if she will use it or not but she has it anyway.

Watched “Chuck” tonight and “The Event”  both very good, well, I like them.

Today is the day of the Cantata!  Guess I am as ready as I will  ever be.  I think I am a little nervous but not to bad.

Well I went to Sunday School and then left a little early to get our robes on for the musical.  We were all ready and standing in the hallway waiting to go in but it was a little early.  We finally went in and got situated, glad that I was told who to follow because I missed the practice last night.  They said the practice didn’t go well, well, the practice last Sunday was also terrible.  The Cantata actually went very well, it sounded good.  I made a few mistakes and hopefully they weren’t noticeable.

The day was good.  Had a good service and then the evening service was also good.

Not much else to say I guess.  I feel good so guess I will rest easy tonight.. Night Y’all…

Well, it isn’t raining!  Looks like it could be a sunny day.  I go into work this afternoon and will get off at 7PM.  Should be a pretty quiet day.  The campground is almost full with the groups that came in for the Azalea Festival. 

Well, I was wrong, it has been quite busy.  Not only campers coming in but reservations for later and later tonight.  It makes the time go a lot faster though when I keep busy.

I found most of my mistake for yesterday and fixed it today.  I had even mentioned to Linda that I had a problem counting the $5 bills.  Well I counted them wrong but got it worked out now..

The count tonight came out perfect, for me anyway.  Wasn’t to bad but then it wasn’t to busy either.

We had hot dogs tonight for supper. I like, never mind….

We are taking it easy tonight, tomorrow is the Cantata and I would like to be rested  up for that.  I sure wish I could memorize the songs.  I guess that three weeks isn’t enough for me, well, three months probably wouldn’t be enough either.  Anyway, I will let you know how the Cantata turned out. I know that the last practice was terrible and I can’t go to the practice tonight, won’t get off until 7PM and the practice starts at 5PM.  Maybe I can lip sync or whatever they call just moving your mouth without making any noise  Time to go to bed….Night Y’all…..

It’s raining!!  Glad I go the fertilizer on yesterday!  I went out and didn’t see any of the granules laying on the ground so hopefully it will help green up the lawn.  Probably will really do the weeds good.

Went to work at 1PM today.  Should be a pretty quiet day.  The campground is almost full because of the Azalea Festival going on.  I have never been to it, but I’ve heard that it was pretty nice.  My Azaleas aren’t even budded yet not sure how they are doing over in Charleston where the festival is.

Mark likes to have plants and flowers out.  I put this one out probably three weeks ago and it was just brown sticks, now look…

I don’t know anything about plants so I can’t tell you what this is, looks like elephant ear or something???

I also saw a dog, not sure what it’s name is but it is a Pomeranian..

I think they gave it a hair cut!!  Looks a lot like a lion.  It is very soft though and very friendly and hyper!

Well, it was an easy day today, only had a few campers come in so I got the cleaning done and waited for 7PM.  Made a mistake on the count some where but that is normal for me.  Mark will find it if I don’t find it tomorrow.

Not much happening at home.  Had cereal for supper.  Had a nice lunch so ate light tonight.  Going to get some sleep tonight I hope, it is very windy out and I think it is going to get pretty cool….  Night Y’all..

Well, I mowed the lawn last night and it sure looks a lot better, doesn’t look good because I have a lot of spots that don’t have grass, not many weeds in those spots either

I go in to work at 9AM again this morning and the time sure does go fast.  I didn’t have time to do my computer stuff so I am taking the computer to work with me.  I can usually do most of the things I need to do during the lunch break.  We are really busy today, the groups are coming in for the Azalea Festival in Charleston.  I am doing some odd jobs that need to be done to make the place look it’s best.  Blew off the rocks in the driveway, put our reservation cones and got gas down the road.  $144 for eight cans of gas!!  Need it though, we mow almost everyday. The golf carts are gas also.

After getting the small things done I went to mowing with the Kubota lawn tractor…

I just can’t hardly believe this mower.  He bought it about seven years ago and it has mowed many many acres of grass (with sticks and stones mixed in).  The engine runs really smooth and the deck has held up really great.  I think he had to replace the pulleys and a few other things but nothing really for all the wear and tear it gets from reckless guys like me!

Had a good afternoon, some mowing and helping Bits parking RVs.

When I got home I was going to fertilize the yard.  Got the mower out and the spreader and I was ready to spread fertilizer!!  Well, it didn’t go well, both tires were flat on the spreader and the spreader wheel wouldn’t turn.  What a bummer.  I oiled it a few times, put air in the tires, oiled it some more and finally got it to work backwards and after awhile it started to work going forwards.   I finally got the yard fertilized which only took about ten minutes, maybe a little more but was really fast.  Supposed to rain tonight so I think this was a good time to do it.

Well, Linda fixed fish for supper with potatoes and a few veggies….very good.  Played with Sparky until I guess I wore him out…

He sure gets hyper but when he is tired he goes to sleep…Nice doggie!!

Another gorgeous day!!  Sunny and cool but supposed to warm up.  I think Mark is going to have me mowing today.  There is a group coming in for the Dog Wood and Azalea Festival and there needs to be a little mowing done.  Grant couldn’t do it Monday because it rained all day.  He did some yesterday but there is still a lot to do.

He has a Kubota with a forty eight in cut (I think)  It is slow but it does a very good job.  I mowed the rest of the 58 sites (48 left) and the last eight I did with a push mower plus some places where the Kubota wouldn’t fit.  I spent most of the day mowing then did a little weed eating and did some blowing of the grass that was on the walks.  I was getting tired by 6PM so I went home and mowed our lawn and the neighbors lawn.  Had a  great time:-)  Oh during lunch today I went and bought triple thirteen fertilizer and a seven pound bag of grass seed. Maybe tomorrow I can get the fertilizer on because it is supposed to rain tomorrow night.  Hope I can do it!!!

After doing all that work and getting that dirty I need a shower but Sparky had to play.  He went to be after ten but when I went to bed, yes, he had to go to the other bathroom for the rest of the night.  He didn’t make a sound as far as I know.  Maybe he like it in there???

It is Tuesday already and the weather is beautiful.  Rained all day yesterday but it is clear and sunny and supposed to get warm today. It is pretty nice already. I don’t go in to work until 1PM today and I work in the office.

I am trying to think of what we did this morning.  I don’t think we did anything.  Played with Sparky but not much else.  I guess I did split a couple of pieces of wood.  I bought a new wedge at Wal Mart and it works great.  I can start it and it doesn’t bounce back out.  Maybe I will be able to finish cleaning up the wood that I can split!!

Work went pretty good this afternoon.  I filled three of the weird propane bottles that hold 33.5 pounds of gas.  Easy to fill had to calculate the cost. I am learning though.

I would like to have mowed the lawn today but it is almost dark and it takes about and hour and a half.  I sure don’t want to try to do it in the dark.

Watched some TV tonight and Linda fixed the left over taco salad, I sure like taco salad.

Sparky has been being a little stinker.  He likes to go to bed early and when we go to bed he starts whining and wants out.  Not going to happen, I took him into the other end of the house and put him in the bathroom and shut the door.  He barked a couple of times but he was quiet the rest of the night (I guess)

Monday April 11th 2011

Got up at 6:15AM and it was still dry, got Sparky outside and the drips started falling.  About five minutes later it was raining and it rained most of the day.  The guy that was going to install the internet called and said he couldn’t do it in the rain, what a bummer.  He will do it tomorrow if the weather is good.

We had to take the car to Cape and get the oil changed and a recall done. It didn’t take to long but cost over $90!!  I had him replace two air filters and I guess that was expensive but maybe they will last as long as we have the car. Twenty years?  I doubt it.

We went to Logan’s for lunch, the two for $20 special.  Linda got a hamburger steak and I got grilled chicken breast with veggies, very good.  Still raining!

Got home about 5 PM and took it easy the rest of the night.

Well, this picture is of the same cornfield that I took a picture of the one little corn plant and now if you look close you can see lots of them.  This is approximately two days after I took the first picture and as you can see it isn’t raining in this picture but the corn is sure growing!

Well, we watched some TV tonight, I had taped part of the show “Category Six” and finished watching it.  We taped Category Seven but haven’t watched it yet, some time we will.

Well, it is time for bed and Linda has to get up early.  Night Y’all…

The wind is blowing again today but it is supposed to get pretty warm probably in the 80s again.  That is nice.   I can handle some mildly warm weather.

Went to church this morning and Pastor Joe had a pretty good sermon going along with the Resurrection theme.  He spoke on the Garden of Gethsemane  and all the things it stood for and what all happened there.

Sunday School was pretty good to.  We have some nice discussions toward the end of the class.

While getting ready for church I tried on a new pair of jeans that I bought at the outlet mall.  Maybe that was a mistake????

I think that this is kind of odd!  Do you see anything wrong???  Well, one pant leg is shorter than the other!!  I had tried these on at the store but didn’t show Linda.  I would have taken them back but I already washed them.  What a bummer.

This is corn from the field behind us.  I don’t see many but it is about one inch tall.

The weather has been cool but the last few warm days and the rain is really going to make it go great guns!!!

Well, we spent the afternoon inside mostly because of the wind and the dirt.  It is really dirty again today and tomorrow it is supposed to rain.  Same as last week.

Went to choir practice again today, I think this was probably the worst practice I have been to. Not going to go into what went wrong but lots of things went wrong!!

Taking it easy tonight, we are supposed to get our internet put in tomorrow. Sure hope so.  Night Y’all

It is warm out and looks like it is going to be a beautiful day!!  We can handle a beautiful day.

This morning we had to go to Wal Mart to get a router for our wifi thing we will be getting Monday.  Got a few other things but that was the main thing.

I picked up some hot dogs for lunch.  They hit the spot!  I love hot dogs! HMMMM  That sounds familiar!  I had to hurry because I go in to work at one PM so I gulped down a few hot dogs before going.

The day at work started out kind of busy with phone call reservations and checking all the sites to see who was still there and then doing my cleaning job.  I took my computer to work just in case I have a few minutes to check emails etc.  Got an email from Kim and she gave us Jacob’s blog address.  Got to read six days worth before getting busy with campers and the computer battery going dead.  Sure looking forward to the wifi here at home.

Tonight we don’t have much of anything going on so it will be a lazy night and after getting up at 6AM I usually don’t have any trouble getting to sleep at night.  Sooooo…. Night Y’all

I’ve been trying for a long time to get ahold of an internet company that could get me wifi.  Well, I found one that I have been calling for about three weeks now and they said they don’t have the equipment right now and it is on back order.  They will call me when it comes in.  Daniel told me there was another place in town that does it so I called them and he was glad to have the business and will come out Monday morning to install it.  YES!!!

I go into work this afternoon for six hours but that shouldn’t be to bad, I think I can handle the stress.

Well, I was right work went quite well, had some busy times but mostly it was quiet and that is unusual for this month.  I think I only had thirteen campers come in today.  Kind of wish I had my computer with me.

Not a lot going on at home,  Sparky slept with us last night, not my idea. He wouldn’t quit whining so Linda put him in bed with us and he was quiet the rest of the night, I guess he was lonely. Tonight so far he is in his cage and doing OK.

I am doing OK so I think I will go to sleep….Night Y’all…

It is kind of chilly this morning but warmer than yesterday.  It is supposed to warm up though and be in the 70s so that will be very nice.

Today is another long day, I go in at 9AM and get off at 6PM.

I went over and worked on the mobile home again and pulled up all the carpeting and the foam backing, a real mess, then in the afternoon I pulled up all the staples, boy am I sore.  It took all afternoon to pull out all the staples.  It is kind of funny, this mobile home was put together with staples. The flooring isn’t nailed it’s stapled.  There is a lot of the floor that has to be replaced because of the water leaks.  The roof hasn’t leaked, at least it doesn’t look like it but most of the windows have leaked and some really bad.  Lots of mold on the floors and walls.

I got to talk to Kim a little at noon on Skype but we really didn’t have a good connection so we were cut off more than we were online.

When I got home I threw my clothes in the washer and I jumped in the shower, really felt dirty today after all that dust.

I fixed Rice-A-Roni with turkey for supper.  Not to bad even if I burnt it a little.  Our stove gets a lot hotter than the stove in the camper.  It still tasted good though.

We are just going to relax again tonight and I will take some Advil because I know I am going to be sore in the morning, I’m already stiff.  Going to call it a night….Night Y’all…

It is pretty chilly this morning but supposed to warm up into the 60s, I can handle that!!

I start work at 9AM today so not a whole lot to do this morning.

When I got to work I went over to the mobile home that I had been cleaning and finishing getting all the junk out.  I’m not sure how many of the leaf bags I had full but I’m guessing it was about twenty.  I had Grant come over with the truck after he got out of school to load up stuff that I couldn’t get on the golf cart then it was pretty much junk free.

I got to talk to Kim in San Diego at lunch time but didn’t have my camera with me so I couldn’t get the Skype discussion. Tomorrow I will bring the camera just in case I get the chance to talk to her.

This afternoon I raked leaves and picked up gum balls from the gum ball trees.  The are quite a mess and very hard to walk on.  It took me all afternoon to get the job done but I got off work on time today.

When I got home I took Sparky out and tried the lawn mower and it started!! I mowed our lawn and Daniel’s lawn.  It was getting dark when I finished but it sure looks a lot better.   I am going to try to take it easy tonight and stay awake.  Hard to do after a little physical labor. Going to bed now the weather is over and it looks like another nice day tomorrow… Night Y’all…

It is cold this morning  Not to warm up a lot, maybe get in the upper 50’s.

I have been trying to start the mower and haven’t had a lot of luck doing it. I think it is just to cold for it to turn over.  I would like to have gotten it done this morning but won’t hurt if I can’t.

We didn’t do much today, I have to work this afternoon.  Bits needs Tuesday off so instead of working a full day I work a half day then on Wednesday and Thursday I work full days.

Work actually went quite well!  We had 25 campers come in but they were spread out and I didn’t have any trouble getting them parked..

Not much going on tonight either.  I see Kim is online and I may try Skype to talk to her…. Night Y’all…..

Monday April 4th 2011

This is my day off, let me think what did we do??? What did we do???  I haven’t gotten any pictures and sometimes that reminds me of what we did.

Woke up to thunder, Sparky is kind of scared of thunder but he does OK. Went outside and it was still very warm.  It was still very warm in the house. I think it was about 76 in the house.  About an hour later we went back out and the temperature was down around 50.  The wind is out of the north and it is very cold.

Linda and I went into town later to take care of a few things and took Sparky with us.  He stays in his cage.  It wasn’t hot so I figure he would be OK.  We did our shopping and looking around.  Bought some more things for Linda to check her glucose level.  Not the right ones so we had to buy a new meter to go with the checker things.  Now Linda has a back up.

It rained like crazy today.  I think the farmers needed it but some areas had winds, not tornado, but straight line winds of about 70 miles per hour.  That is a lot of wind!!  It was windy here but nothing like that!

Not much else going on.  Sparky is really getting to act different.  He wants to go to bed about 9PM.  He doesn’t want to play just go to bed. Strange!!!

He likes going to bed earlier than I do.  Well, guess it’s time for us to go to bed also….Night Y’all….

It is sooooo windy out today!!  It is warm though and supposed to get up into the 70s!  Sure hope so.

Went to church at Fellowship again this morning. The youth pastor had charge today.He did a pretty good job a lot of his sermon had to do with giving to the Lottie Moon thing.  He also had a sermon on prayer and what he would like people to pray for in the church.

On the way home I thought I would get blown off the road!  The wind was out of the South about 40 MPH or more.   The dust in the air was really bad.  Just before getting home the dust was so bad I almost had to stop, well, I went really slow.

Linda fixed a pot of beans, and even though it isn’t cold it sure was good.  We made some corn bread to go with it, now that wasn’t the best.  I don’t know what it was but it sure tasted sweet.

Went back to church tonight and we had cantata practice.  I am having kind of a hard time but tonight was a lot easier to reach all the high notes. I still didn’t sing good but I reached a lot of the high notes.

Going to take it easy tonight, had a couple turkey sandwiches.  I really like turkey.  Anyway, that’s about all for tonight.  Actually I still have a couple more blogs to write because I haven’t gotten online…Night Y’all….

Beautiful day out today and it has just started, what a nice sunny day.

We didn’t do much of anything this morning, I knew that I had to go to work a little later, oh well, hopefully it will be a good day. (Later) well, it wasn’t a real bad day, kept kind of busy, got the plants watered and finally got the cleaning done at about 6:30PM.  I thought it would be a really busy day but actually it was kind of slow for April 2nd.  I waited until after 7PM for a camper to come in who was just a few minutes away.  Got them checked in and did the books and I made a mistake somewhere and I can’t find it, hopefully Mark will find it for me.

Linda had the tacos again for tonight.  I love tacos, well, I love most everything I guess.  We had a nice evening I got Sparky all tired out and he went to sleep on the pillow, well, almost…

He must have been really tired….

Guess he kind of sipped off the pillow..

Well, not much to write about tonight I have tomorrow off and have church a good part of the day.  I am singing in the Cantata and it really isn’t easy.  The notes are very high for me but I will  sure give it a  good try, I know the Lord will see me through it… Have a great night Y’all…

April Fool’s Day!!  Well, I’m not much for jokes I guess. 

Looks like it is going to be a very nice day, the sun is shining and it is going to get a little warmer.

I baked bread this morning.  Turned out pretty good then I grilled out (in the garage).

The steaks were from the grocery store down in Mission TX.  They weren’t nearly as good as the New York Strip steak though but they did taste good.  I baked some potatoes and grilled an onion that turned out pretty good.

Work again today and it looks nice out.  This is one of the busiest times of the year.  Snow Birds heading north.  Started out pretty good.  They were pretty consistent coming in, Mark helped when the driveway filled up and that gave me time to finish some of the paper work.  Mark and Kim left at 6PM and things were kind of slow, had a few more. At about 7:05PM (7PM is quitting time) it went downhill in a hand basket.  I missed getting a charge card receipt and the woman insisted she had to have one.  Got ahold of Mark and he tried to help me get the duplicate receipt.  Twenty minutes on the phone and he finally came back to the office but during this time the driveway filled up again with waiting campers. To get to the point I was there until after 8PM and I still didn’t do the bookwork.  Going to leave it for tomorrow.  I am ready to go home.  That is to much like stress!!!

Linda wondered why I was so late and that was the reason.  We just had a sandwich, peanut butter and banana, for supper.  Hit the spot.  I stayed up and watched the weather I think.  Anyway to bed….Night Y’all.

Today I only work a half day, well, six hours but it should go well.  It went well until 7PM when I was supposed to go home.  Had the books all done when there was someone at the door.  I opened it and it was another camper, OK, I checked him in and went to park him.  Easy!!  Oops, here comes another camper.  This guy is old and wants a deal.  He said he got a real good rate down the road and the more he went on I almost told him to go on down the road and maybe he would get the same “good” deal.  I was nice I didn’t do it.  Well, I finally got out about 7:35PM.  Could have been a lot worse I guess.

Linda had tacos fixed for supper and I was getting hungry.  They were really good. We took it easy tonight, I had a hard time staying awake again, so what’s new??

Tomorrow is another day so maybe I will have more tomorrow. Night Y’all…

Wednesday March 30th 2011

Sounds like yesterday, it is still very cool and windy outside.  Supposed to warm up a bit I think but not much.

Well, work today is a menagerie  of different things.  I worked on the golf cart most of the morning trying to change some electrical wires that were supposed to correct the problem.  I didn’t mend the wires I replaced them.  Ran beautiful for about 3 hours then the battery went dead and that was really fast!  Guess I don’t have it fixed.  I changed the wires back the way they were and figured there was another problem that I have no idea where to find it.  I am not good at electrical problems.

This afternoon I helped Bits for a little over an hour and when I got caught up I went over to the mobile home I was cleaning…this is the kitchen…

I finished the kitchen then went to the middle bedroom…

I actually knew the lady that lived here, not well, but I had met her.  This is really not nice.  Not sure if they had a dog or some wild animal like a possum or raccoon nested in here for a couple of years, plenty of droppings… This one I am about half done with the room..

Plenty of work.  I know all the carpet will come out and some of the walls will have to be repaired or replaced.  He has twelve more to do and I’ve worked two days so far just cleaning up the clothes etc…

After work I was pretty tired but Linda fixed a great meal…fish and mashed potatoes with a salad….Yummy!!

I didn’t realize it until now but I think she has her eyes closed.  She is smiling though…

Not much going on tonight, a little TV and a few naps before going to bed.  Tomorrow I work in the office so it won’t be so physical but it has really been busy for this little campground….Night Y’all…
