Monday January 30th 2011

It isn’t raining but it is very damp out.  There is a mist and maybe a few sprinkles that keeps everything a little wet.

I put the awning out to keep the chairs dry and for Sparky when he goes out and I can also sit outside.  The temperature isn’t bad at all, supposed to get around seventy again today.  It is cool now but still nice to be able to sit outside.

We aren’t going to do much of anything today, I am washing some clothes but other than that not much.

I decided to bake some bread.  We still have the wheat flour and I want to get it used up.  I put some oatmeal in it so that should make it good and healthy Smile.

Linda and I finished up the fish tacos tonight. They were good and we also had some ranch beans that we forgot yesterday!  I think these ranch beans are probably the best I’ve ever had and I think it is probably because they cook them with bacon.  Lots better than pork and beans or even refried beans.

112_3426

I wanted to include this picture of an orange tree and the blossoms that it has on it.  It is loaded with blossoms and the scent is sickening sweet!  Smells good for awhile but after awhile it really gets to me…

Time to quit…..  Night Y’all…..

Sunday January 29th 2012

It is a little cooler this morning.  Not supposed to get real warm today either. I think it is supposed to get around seventy but it is really dry and there is a pretty good breeze blowing so it will still feel cool.

We to church at FBC Mission again.  Pastor Adrian was really worked up today.  He was especially waiting for the second service where the young people come.  It is geared for the young people.  He kind of went on with the “Basic Training” schedule he has even though it was out of the ordinary. He used David and Saul as the points.  Saul just kept disobeying and his kingdom was taken away from him.  The point he was making was obedience.  Kids today seem to have so many more things that they do than when we were kids (a long time ago).  Now they have guns, drugs and not much in the way of parental leadership.  Now I have to say that not all kids are bad but they are all subject to things at school etc that we weren’t.  I think I was out of high school before I new anything about drugs. I am a slow learner though.

Sunday School was really good also.  Our teacher (I don’t know her name) was a missionary and really knows the bible.  She was saying the rumor now is May 27th will be the rapture (RUMOR).  She also says that no one knows when that will be.

It was kind of late when I got home, I stopped and got gas but this afternoon was the ice cream and cake for the month.  We decided to go since we were reminded at least four times.  They cake was really pretty.

112_3428

They got the cake and ice cream from HEB.  The cake was really good.  There were about six of us than stayed and talked until about 4PM.  Had a great time.  I had to take a nap when we got home.  For some reason I just don’t feel real good.  I think I will stop with the coffee for awhile, maybe that  is the problem???

Linda made fish tacos tonight.  We had some frozen Tilapia that she fried up and made some cabbage slaw to go on it.  The cabbage to me didn’t taste quite right so I fried some and that hit the spot.  Good supper!

Nothing going on tonight just taking it easy….Night Y’all….

Saturday January 28th 2012

This morning it is cool but it is supposed to be a very nice day.  We don’t have any plans for today but I used the computer yesterday to activate my new debit card so I have to go somewhere to give it a try.

When Linda got up we went to Wal Mart and got a few extra things.  I was going to use the ATM but it was really busy so I figured I would try it at the checkout to make sure it worked.  Guess what???  It worked!  I must have done something right!!

On the way home I suggested stopping at Leo’s for some Mexican food.  Didn’t take much for her to agree.  I really like their half chicken with rice, beans and tortillas.  They have the best beans there.  Had to take a picture, Linda had a couple of tacos…

112_3425

I think I ate to much.  I felt tired after eating so I took Sparky for a walk then I took a nap.  Still didn’t feel to good after the nap either.

Not much going on the rest of the day.  I took another picture of Sparky. He has found his place here in the camper…

112_3430

Outside he is on my lap and inside he takes the outside of the seat and doesn’t really want to move so I can get out.  Normally after playing this is his position.

A little TV tonight and then to bed.   Night Y’all…

Friday January 27th 2012

It is cool this morning I even started the furnace for awhile!  I think it was only about fifty out but still felt pretty chilly.

I went over for coffee and rolls this morning and stayed for about a half hour then came home.  I went back over at nine and worked on a puzzle for a little while then we had a bible study from 9:30 to 10:30.   That was interesting and I think there were ten or eleven of us there.  That is pretty good for a really small campground.

Our neighbor had his motor home washed and waxed and it looks pretty good.  The same ones did ours a few weeks ago.  I think they would like to do ours again.  I really need the top washed and I think I will have them do it before we leave in March.  I won’t have it waxed again, just washed.

Joe, our neighbor, let me use some of his Turtle Wax Ice, which is a spray on wipe off wax and I think I will have to get some of it.  It seems to do a good job and I would like to get it (the car) done again before we leave to go home. I am going to try that stuff on the camper also.  The camper looks really good. I keep noticing how shiny it is and so far it doesn’t look like there is any oxidation on the fiberglass or metal, it all shines nicely.

It got pretty warm today around seventy six I think.  We opened the camper and it was pretty nice. We sat outside for quite awhile.  Sparky really likes the bone that Mary gave him.   I took some pictures but now I can’t find my cord for the camera again.  I will have to find it so I can put a picture on here…..

112_3424

He really likes his bone!!!

Time to say Night Y’all….

Thursday January 26th 2012

It is pretty cool this morning.  We haven’t used our furnace but it is cool enough.  We hear the neighbors furnace running but I think they like to keep warm and we like it pretty cool except when it is pretty warm outside.

Sparky and I did quite a bit of walking this morning.  He is pretty frisky and I don’t mind the walking.

I tried something this morning I have never tried in this camper.  I found a cake mix and decided to bake a cake.  Our oven is  a microwave plus convection oven which really works good but the inside revolves so we can’t use a square pan (9X13) because it won’t turn.  Linda bought some pans with the spring sides and one is quite large so I decided to try it!  I think it worked out quite well…

112_3420

It is a confetti cake and Linda frosted it.  I cut it is eight pieces and it even came out of the pan good.  The pieces are way to big even though the cake looks pretty small.  We enjoyed it!

We went over and talked to Dale and Velda and the neighbors Ken and Dee stopped over and we talked for about an hour I guess.  Had a great time.  Ken and Dee live in Ketchum OK and that is where our membership campground is at.   Small world.

We took it easy the rest of the day, sat outside for awhile but the wind was a little cool but this was probably one of the best days of the year.  Tonight it is supposed to get pretty cool again.

I took the car over the a place this afternoon and got it hand washed and waxed. They did a pretty good job, better than I would do probably.  I’m not a perfectionist when it comes to washing cars, waxing either.  Cost $15 and it does look pretty good.

Not much going on tonight a little TV and to bed.    Night Y’all….

Wednesday January 25th 2011

Kind of wet out this morning, it is humid and kind of cloudy.  It was supposed to rain but that didn’t happen.

We don’t have anything planned for today, probably go to Wal Mart and pick up a bunch of things we need. Probably some things we didn’t need to.

It is getting pretty warm out but the wind is pretty nice.  It is blowing out of the North and is cool but the sun sure is hot!

Linda wanted to spend the Christmas money for a tent.  We don’t need the tent until June but we got one anyway.  We will wait until we get home to put it up.  Sure don’t want to do it here.  I also bought a new pillow.  Mine for some reason really feels hard.  It isn’t comfortable anymore.  The new one feels really good.  I think I will like it.

I took a couple of pictures now I can’t find the cord to download them.  Oh well, maybe I’ll find it later.

I had to try to make the linguini that we had yesterday at Pappadeaux’s  and it turned out pretty good but not nearly as good as from the restaurant!

Not much going on tonight so I will say Night Y’all…

Found the cord….. and now for our favorite dog pics of the day…

112_3418

This is one of Sparky’s favorite toys… and now his new pillow…

112_3419

OK, night y’all…

Tuesday January 24th 2012

We got some rain this morning!  Not the first rain since we’ve been here but a needed rain even though it was just a little.  There is more in the forecast so maybe it will rain some more later, I think it is supposed to rain for the next two or three days, not much, but some.

We talked to Dale and Velda and we decided to try a new restaurant called Pappadeaux.  When we got there it looked like it could be kind of fancy.  Most people looked like business people and were dressed better than us but that was OK.  The prices were on the high side for us but we decided to stay.  They started out with a partial loaf of bread which was very good.  We asked for some more but before they brought it they brought our dinners.  We told them to forget the bread because the servings were really large.  Linda got a Po Boy sandwich that looked like it must have been at least twelve inches long with about a pound of french fries.  I ordered a chicken linguine picayune and it came in a bowl that was really big.  Dale and Velda both ordered shrimp.  They said theirs was good and Linda really like hers, it had fried catfish in it and mine was excellent.  I would order it again.  It was expensive but very good.

When we left there Velda mentioned the Santa Anna Wildlife Refuge so we headed down there.  It was quite a drive but we got to pick up our Senior Pass for $10 and got into the refuge and saw a movie about it.  One day we will go back down there to take the tour.  It is over two thousand acres and the guided tour takes about an hour and a half.  Something to do for a day.

We went on home and stayed for the rest of the day.  We need to go to Wal Mart but I think we will save that for tomorrow.  I am still stuffed from that dinner.  Nothing going on tonight.  The wind picked up and it is still pretty warm out.  I think the low tonight is only supposed to get into the upper sixties.  Going to be a little warm.

Time to say night y’all…

Monday January 23rd 2012

We are really having some warm weather!  It is great and good for sitting outside.  It really is damp at night and I left the chairs outside even though I had them folded up they were still pretty wet!

I got Linda up about 10:30 to see if she wanted to go to pizza today.  She didn’t really answer so about a half hour later she finally got up and decided she would give it a try.

We rode to Peter Piper Pizza with Dale and Velda. We really like the salad bar even though it is a small one it hits the spot.  We stayed until the end and then headed back home.  Linda stayed up doing something for about a half hour while I took Sparky for a walk and when I got back I was tired so I decided to take a nap and so did she.  I slept for about an hour and she slept for about four hours.  She was tired.  She hasn’t done anything for a couple of weeks so this was pretty tiring for her.

I can’t remember the last time I took a picture.  Should have taken one at the pizza place.  One of these days I will get back in gear, I hope.

Nothing going on tonight, we will take it easy and go to bed early…Night Y’all….

Sunday January 22nd 2012

It is cool this morning, well, in the 60s which is really nice.  It is supposed to get up into the middle eighties again today so it will be really warm.

I went to church at FBC Mission again. It is a pretty good church.  Adrian’s brother had the service today and kept on with the theme of “Basic Training” and he did a pretty good job on the sermon.  Mainly it is geared to the fact the we need to use the knowledge we already have and spread the Gospel to others.

There is a lady there that fixes breakfast every Sunday morning.  Not just sweet rolls but biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, sometimes pancakes etc.  I would like to see how she makes her baking powder biscuits, they are really good!

This afternoon Linda and I sat outside then went over and talked to Dale and Velda.  We were sitting in the sun and it was HOT!  There was a slight breeze that helped but I think I needed the shade.

I think we spent most of the afternoon outside and when we came back home we sat outside in the shade and kind of dozed for a couple of hours. This was the longest Linda has been outside since we got here!  She really enjoyed the fresh air.

Nothing going on again tonight, just taking it easy…Night Y’all…

Saturday January 21st 2012

Seldom Rest Ranch is having their annual yard sale today!  People started coming in about 6:30AM!  Have some early risers for sure.  Seems to be quite busy but the people I talked to later said they didn’t sell much.  I had thought about baking some bread to sell but I sure don’t feel like baking and the temperature is supposed to get around 85 today so it would be pretty hot.

It is a good day to sit outside in the shade.  Not a lot of breeze today but it is pretty cloudy so it really isn’t to bad.

I was hungry for something different to eat and I think it was today that I went to Leo’s gas station and bought a half chicken with rice, beans and tortillas plus two burritos!   Seems like everything we’ve eaten the past week didn’t have a lot of taste but this meal was excellent!  We aren’t much for Ranch Beans but these were probably the best beans I’ve ever eaten!  Everything was good, the burritos were a little salty but the taste was really great.  Glad I tried something different!

Not much going on tonight,  We are feeling better but still not quite up to par.   Night Y’all….

Saturday, January 21, 2012

Friday January 20th 2012

It is warm today and we still aren’t feeling well.  Dale and Velda asked us to go to breakfast with them and Linda really doesn’t feel up to it so I went  on over to the coffee get together.  Usually have a good time over there.

We haven’t done much of anything all week.  We are just staying home and relaxing and trying to get over the Texas Crud.  We aren’t having much of anything to eat, I had soup tonight and Linda had a couple of frozen tacos.  Really not to hungry.

Linda talked to her sister Connie in Illinois tonight and she said it is supposed to get down around zero tonight and they have about seven inches of snow.  Hard to believe it is almost ninety here. Almost broke a record today.  I sat outside most of the day soaking up some of the nice warm breezes.

Went to bed early tonight and hopefully we are on the mend…Night Y’all..

January 19th 2012

Well today is Thursday and it is another nice day.  Cool last night and really good for sleeping.  We still aren’t feeling well, coughing and hacking seems to just hang on.  We don’t feel real bad but just don’t feel good.

I can sit outside and doze in my chair and be quite comfortable with Sparky in my lap.  He is settling down also.  He isn’t near as hyper as he used to be.

We haven’t done anything for going on a week now.  We just don’t feel like doing anything.  Dale and Velda asked if we wanted to go for breakfast tomorrow. I thought that would be nice just to get out for a little while but the way we are feeling I don’t think we will be able to enjoy the outing.

We had a piece of toast for breakfast and tonight we are having peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  We are eating high on the hog for sure!

I know this blog is getting boring but we aren’t doing anything so there isn’t much to write.  soooooo….night y’all….

January 17th & 18th 2012

This Texas Crud sure doesn’t want to go away.  Linda has had it for about three weeks now and I’ve had it for a couple of weeks.  Ready to feel good again.

It is warm today, I think it got up to 89.  I sat outside almost all day.  The breeze was nice but it was a good day to sweat.  I didn’t feel to bad but still not up to par.  Went to the chili supper tonight, got a lot of pictures which I won’t put on here but will try to get everyone in the park and their names so I will know who goes with who.

This evening is nice but sitting inside the camper with the windows open it is still very warm.  Cool front is coming tonight.

I got up about 1AM and turned off the fan and closed all the windows, it is getting chilly out now.

Sparky and I went outside Wednesday morning and it is pretty chilly outside but feels good.  The temperature today is only supposed to get in the middle 60s give or take a few degrees. (Got up to 71)

I felt worse today.  I don’t feel like doing anything!  I don’t feel real bad but I just don’t have any will to do anything or go anywhere.  I think I should have taken some medicine last night before going to bed.

Darrel and Cindy came in yesterday.  They parked by us last year and Darrel had the same thing we have this year.  I think he may have had a worse case of it though.  Hopefully we can get together and go out to eat before they have to leave.

Tonight I just can’t get up the energy to do anything.  I fried some potatoes and onions for supper, that didn’t even taste good.  Mercy, I must be sick!

Time to day night y’all…

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Monday January 16th 2012

Well, we still aren’t feeling up to par even though I feel much better today and I felt great last night in bed, kind of changes when I get up but I still feel better than yesterday.  Linda is still hacking and coughing but I think slowly she is getting better.

Sparky and I were sitting outside this morning, it is actually pretty nice out, the wind is blowing and it isn’t really cool but I still have my coat on.  Don’t want to take a chance on catching something else.

We still aren’t going to do anything today, I feel pretty good but not good enough to go wandering around.  Takes enough just to walk Sparky.

Got some of our clothes washed today, will probably have to finish tomorrow.   Not sure if I can find the time thoughSmile….

When we went to the flea market I bought some Pablano peppers and I want to use them before they spoil so I cut up three of them and onions and four hot dogs and fried them in olive oil.  We also had four hamburger buns that needed to be used.  Well, it was OK, Linda liked it because the peppers were pretty hot and it helped clear her sinuses!  The meal wasn’t all that great though.  The peppers would be a lot better with meat and cheese I think, like chili reyono and I don’t know how to spell reyono and I know it isn’t right!

Nothing going on tonight so will watch some TV and go to bed I guess… Night Y’all…

January 12-13-14-15 2012

I don’t usually do this but I haven’t felt good and just didn’t feel like getting on the computer.  I am putting this all together because we really didn’t do much of anything all these days!  Thursday I can’t remember doing anything. Friday I know that I went to the coffee and donut thing at the club house.  Oh, Thursday I did fill up with propane because we are supposed to have some pretty cool weather.  I know this is going back and forth but I write it down as I remember it.

Saturday I’m not sure we did anything and Sunday I was planning on going to Tip O Texas to church, it will be Don’s last day there.  I’m sick.  Not bad, but sick enough I don’t want to give it to anyone else.  Linda is feeling a little bit better but still not well.

Linda made me an egg sandwich tonight but I sure wasn’t hungry.  I ate it and then a little fruit.  My stomach is starting to feel queasy and I have a headache.  I figure tonight will be a miserable night.  I was going to take some cough syrup but I’m not sure that it will stay down.  I took a couple Ibuprophen and went to bed at 9PM.  At 11PM I was feeling better so I took some cough syrup and  the rest of the night went quite well.  I was surprised……Night Y’all…

Wednesday January 11th 2012

Well, today was a really weird day.  Sparky and I were walking this morning and he was attacked by a German Shepherd.  This man came into the park last night and was out getting something out of the car and the dog got out of the camper and when he saw Sparky he ran like a shot and had Sparky down and bit him and it was over!!!  Sparky was really shook up and so was I.  They guy got his dog and apologized and Sparky looked like he was OK so I figured except for the trauma he was OK.  Well, when we got home Linda saw the blood on his back and saw the small scratch or puncture on his back.  We took him to the vet and got it checked out and they gave him some medicine because of the germs he could have gotten from the other dog.

112_3409

It doesn’t look all that bad but figured it needed some attention now rather than a lot of attention later.

This afternoon we went to the Doctor in Mission.  Linda isn’t getting any better so we will check it out.  She had a glucose test and it was pretty normal, a chest X-ray and a test for strep throat.  All came back normal so she has bronchitis.  The Doctor gave her a prescription for an anti biotic and cough syrup.  The ten pills at Walgreens were about $180 but with the insurance card we got them for about $15.  Hopefully this will do the trick.  I probably should have seen he also but I will wait until I get worse!  Hopefully I won’t but you never know what will happen.

This took up most of the day and when we got home we had a sandwich and I had to take a picture of Sparky with his peanut butterSmile

112_3413

Sparky really likes peanut butter and it took him a long time to lick out the jar!!  Actually his head isn’t stuck but he needed to get closer to the bottom.

Not feeling well tonight. We are both under the weather, Linda more than I but I just don’t feel up to par and hopefully it will go away.

Well, will say Night Y’all….

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Tuesday January 10th 2012

Weather report….supposed to be sunny and very warm today!!  Love it!!

Not going to do to much today, Linda isn’t getting any better so we will stay home and take it easy!  Rough lifeSmile

I’m trying to think if we did anything today, can’t think, I asked Linda and she has to think about it, isn’t that terrible???

I know Linda slept a lot today, we are hoping that she starts getting better.  She doesn’t do to bad when she is up but when she lays down she seems to cough a lot more.  Have to correct that, I made her some ramen soup and she ate part of it and got to coughing so bad I wasn’t sure if she was going to pass out or not.  She seemed to do better, after awhile.  I gave her one of the Hall’s mocha mint cough drops.  They seem to do a good job.  Got them at Foy’s Supermarket for fifty cents.  Good price!

Not much else to say cept night y’all…

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Monday January 9th 2012

It’s still warm out today and I think it will be a nice day even though it is cloudy, it is supposed to get up close to 80 I think.  It is also supposed to rain today, well it hasn’t so far so I got Sparky out and let him do his thing before it does start.

Well, by 11AM the sun came out and it looks like it is going to be a pretty day after all.  I guess up around Houston they go a lot of rain.  They even had flash flood warnings out.  I don’t think we even got a sprinkle.

Linda is going to make chicken burritos.  Got the recipe from Don.  It sure smells good!  We had pbj sandwiches for lunch.  I could probably live on pbj sandwiches they so good!

Got some more lights for the camper.  Dale brought the package over.  I had to take a picture.  These lights are really different!

112_3407

I know it is had to see but the light in the middle is a halogen light and they are the ones I am replacing with the LED bulbs.  The LED bulbs have twenty four LEDs in each one of them.  They give off a nice soft blue light and they are pretty bright, not as bright as the halogen but they are pretty bright.  They don’t fit quite like the halogen bulb and they have to be just right to work but I like them.  I will keep the halogen bulbs for replacements.  I still need six more to make it completely LED for the main lights.

The Chicken burritos were very good.  Makes enough for two meals so we have some left over for tomorrow or sometime.

Time to say night y’all…. have a great night…

Sunday January 8th 2012

Linda is still sick so she won’t be going to church.  I’m going to go to the First Baptist Church in Mission.  They have a pretty good church service and Sunday School.  Next Sunday we will go to Tip O Texas to see Don.  It will be his last Sunday here, he is heading to Georgia to be with LaVon and her mother.  We will go there if we feel good.  Seems to be a good winter to get sick!

I stopped at Foy’s Supermarket, after church, hmm I thought I wrote this once but it isn’t on the list of my posts so I guess I will keep on writing.  I got the stuff on the list except for Linda’s TV Guide, they didn’t have any.

We aren’t going to do anything this afternoon, I will go to the clubhouse for the movie this afternoon.  Mary and I were the only two watching the movie, there were other people there but they were occupied with other things.  The movie was “Father’s Day”.  Billy Crystal and Robin Williams.  It was OK, glad I didn’t have to pay to see it.

When I got back home I asked Linda if she wanted to watch one of the movies I bought at the flea market.  She did so we watched the “Adventures of Tin Tin”  It was an animated movie.  Kind of like Indiana Jones only animated.  It was pretty good.

We didn’t do much the rest of the night. Just relaxed and tried to get better. Hopefully Linda won’t have to go to the doctor, she sounds a lot worse when she is sleeping than when she is up.

Time to say night Y’all..

Sunday, January 8, 2012

Saturday January 7th 2012

It is supposed to be real warm today, up in the 80s I believe!  I think I can handle that.

We need to go to the store but I don’t think we will go today.  There is a grocery store called “Foy’s” and I think I will probably stop by there tomorrow after church.  The church I go to isn’t all that far from that store. Same street and it is by the road that goes to our campground.  Well, it goes close.

We aren’t going to do much today, Linda still doesn’t feel good so we will just hang out here.

Sparky is sick today also.  He woke up sick and has been moping all day.  He has been sick to his stomach and really lethargic.  Later this afternoon Linda made some rice for him and he really chowed down on it and seemed to feel good after that.  Hopefully he is cured!

Nothing else going on tonight, just a little TV.  I did put some LED bulbs in where the halogen lights were.  They work good except they don’t fit very well and I have to do a little bending to get them in.  I probably already said that a couple of days ago. Anyway, night Y’all…

Saturday, January 7, 2012

Friday January 6th 2012

Got up early today and headed for Wal Mart to pick up the donuts.  What a bummer.  I wanted a variety and they gave my a variety of donuts. Different colored frosting was the variety.  I stopped at HEB and got some more there.  When I got back to the campground I dropped off the donuts at the clubhouse and it was locked!  First time since I’ve been here that it has been locked.  Another guy just came up and he had the combination to it so I left the donuts and saw a sign on the coffee pot that said “plug me in at 7AM”!  It was already 7:30AM and things just aren’t going right this morning.

I figured with as many people that are here in the park now that there would be a pretty big crowd.  I was wrong, I think there were twelve maybe.  I ended up dumping out a lot of coffee.  Oh well, I did my hosting for awhile.

Dale and Velda are going to Pulga, the flea market and I’m going to ride along.  Velda bought one of these scooters at Don-Wes flea market and she is going to try it out.  We left about 10AM and the flea market was crowded.  None of us were looking for anything special.  I bought a couple of movies and some vegetables.  It was fun just looking at all the “stuff”! The scooter worked out great!  She went all over the flea market, the only problem was that it was so low she couldn’t see a lot of things on the tables.

Linda is feeling just a little better, hopefully the “Zpack” things will do the trick.

It isn’t hot today but the sun is shining and it feels nice outside.  The wind is blowing pretty strong and makes it feel cooler that it actually is.

Linda fixed egg burritos for supper.  They were good, hit the spot.

Didn’t do much of anything tonight except watch TV.  Time to say night Y’all…

Thursday January 5th 2012

We have been having some very nice weather. The mornings are cool and sometimes we have fog which is really different.  This morning I went out with Sparky and on our walk (before the sun came up) I talked to Red who gets up really early and he said that it was so foggy earlier that you couldn’t hardly see.  Now is it clear as a bell and very few clouds in the sky. Well, it didn’t last long over to the west it looks like dark clouds and within a few minutes it was here, ground clouds, fog, and it was really thick. It didn’t last very long though maybe an hour and it cleared up again and the sun came out and we had a beautiful day!

Linda is not getting better!  She has it in her throat and lungs, more lungs or chest than anything.  Velda gave her a bottle of something called “Zpack” and she started taking that. I looked it up online and before I got done Linda had taken one.  Glad it doesn’t have penicillin in it, she is allergic to that kind of stuff.

We are hosting the coffee tomorrow at the club house so I went to Wal Mart and checked the price of donuts and picked up some frozen fruit for tomorrow.  Linda mixed it up.  It was strawberries, blueberries, mango and raspberries. I also picked up  a couple cans of pineapple chunks to mix in with it.  There are a lot of people that either can’t or don’t eat sugar so that works for them.

Not much else going on today so I will say night y’all…

Wednesday January 4th 2012

For the weather forecast…it is a beautiful day, supposed to get up around 80 today.  Nice and warm with a pretty good wind blowing out of the south.

I had taken the two rugs out and shook them the other day and I couldn’t believe the dust in them.  Most of it was from Missouri!  The wind blew so hard this spring before planting that the inside of the camper was coated with really fine dust.  A lot got in the carpets so I took them to the laundromat today and washed them.  I didn’t dry them but brought them home and laid them over the chairs to dry.  I probably should have dried them, they sure have a lot of sand left in them.  They look clean though and I did shake them again before putting them back in the camper.

Linda isn’t feeling good, got that stuff in her chest again.  Not sure how good the flu shot was that she got but she sure has been sick since we’ve been here.

Sparky and I walked a couple of miles today.  He needs the exercise and so do I.  We got to visit Harley…

Harley is a teacup Chihuahua and they, well, Sparky runs around like a crazy dog.  He isn’t real sure about Harley, in fact, he is scared of Harley!  Sparky has to be four times Harley’s size but then Sparky is scared of almost everything.

We just took it easy the rest of the day, sat outside for quite awhile enjoying the nice warm weather.

Watched a little TV tonight, nothing special though.  Another boring, but warm, day….Night Y’all….

Tuesday January 3rd 2012

It is cool this morning but supposed to be a nice day again.  Sure hope so. They nights have really been cool. It was so cool last night the dew on the car is solid again!  Come on warm weather!!

It is a beautiful day even if it started out cool.  I think it will get warmer soon.

Don is coming over for a visit.  Linda fixed pork burritos for lunch.  They turned out really good.  She also fixed a salad and it was excellent!  She put onions, cucumbers, avocado and a bunch of other stuff.  It was excellent. I even had a second helping then finished it for supper!

We played three games of zilch and Don didn’t win any.  Linda won the first and I won the next two but then I was keeping scoreSmile.  We had a good visit though and sure wish that LaVon could have been here, so did Don.  We always have a great time with them.

Not much else going on today, will watch some TV tonight and then go to bed.  Guess it is time to say Night Y’all… Oh, it did warm up, even had to open the camper to get it cooled off, didn’t take long, I think the temperature made it up to about 68, was excellent….

Monday January 2nd 2012

It is cold this morning!  Not unusual, but still kind of cold.  Not sure if the mail will come today or not being the day after a holiday.  Guess it could but I would imagine the USPS is going to take a holiday.  I’m expecting the light bulbs, sometime, not sure when they will make it.

We are going to Peter Piper Pizza at noon for the Seldom Rest Ranch get together for pizza time.  Peter Piper has decent pizza but I like the salad bar.  It isn’t anything special but I don’t eat nearly enough salad and it is pretty good here.  I went back for seconds of salad.  I also had three slices of pizza and they served a small dish of ice cream.  All in all it was pretty good!

We aren’t doing much today after pizza, Sparky and I walked until I figured it was time for a nap.

Watched a bunch of stuff on the History Channel tonight, Pawn Stars, Picking etc.  I enjoy watching people try to haggle for money of things that are old etc.  Good shows.

Not much else to talk about so I’ll just say night Y’all….

Sunday January 1st 2012

Let me tell you Saturday night and Sunday morning were pretty noisy!  The fireworks were plentiful for sure!  I think there were a lot of guns also.  We kept hearing noises that sure sounded like automatic gunfire.  Maybe semi-automatic.  Kind of made us wonder which way they were firing or maybe it was the drug wars getting close.  The band played until about two or three in the morning.  I’m not sure when they quit but the music was loud.

I got up and went to church at Mission First Baptist.  Pastor Adrian says the first three months are going to be “Boot Camp”.  He is going to start at the beginning and get all the “basics” down then go on to “advanced” later.

Sunday School was also good.  I’m not sure what the teacher’s name is but I think she was a missionary.  She seems to know the bible quite well! We were in Numbers and the time with Balak and Balaam, and I always wondered why the Lord said no to Balaam twice then the third time said to go?  She had a pretty good answer, it was because He wanted to show Balaam that it didn’t matter what he did but he needed to learn that because he did want to go he would learn the hard way that it wasn’t the right thing to do!  Something like that.  Balaam almost got himself killed but she said it didn’t get him converted, he was still a sorcerer!

We didn’t do much today. I made some biscuits for lunch and Linda made the hamburger gravy.  Had a good lunch but sure ate to much.

This morning, going back, it was very warm out, about 70 I think.  During church we got a good rain and when I got out of church it was 63 degrees. That was quite a cool off.

This afternoon was nice, kind of cool but not cold.  I think it is going to get chilly tonight though.

Just a little TV tonight.  I went to church tonight but there are no Sunday Evening services.  I didn’t know!

Well, time to say Night Y’all….

Saturday December 31st 2011

Well it’s cloudy this morning and just a little cool but not to bad.  I think it is probably in the upper forties and I think it is supposed to be a nice day even though it doesn’t look like it now.

We don’t have a lot planned for today, I know we are going to go to Wal Mart to get a few things, I need a new watch band, mine broke and I really don’t want to wear it and lose it, the ten dollar watch works really good but the band doesn’t.

We left around ten and by the time we got to Wal Mart the sun was breaking through and once it breaks through it warms up fast.  I had my jacket on and by the time we left Wal Mart I had to take it off. I thought I would take a picture of my NEW watch….. TWICE…

112_3402

I didn’t like the first picture, it was kind of blurry so I took another one.  I was going to buy a new band for the other watch but the band cost more than the watch and this watch was only $8 and I can see it, well, I could see the other one to but I didn’t want to pay $12 for a band!  I guess you could say I’m kind of cheap.

We took a nap this afternoon, it was just about right, tonight we are going over to Dale and Velda’s to play some cards and listen to the band!  The house in back of their camper is a party house.  They have bands quite often and this being New Year’s Eve we are sure they will have the band.

We didn’t stay up until midnight though.  I didn’t.  We left around 11PM but about midnight the fireworks woke Sparky up and he started barking.  It was kind of noisy and I think the band played until about 2 or 3AM

We had a good night, played three games of Zilch and Dale won two and I won one.  Had a lot of good laughs.  Unfortunately their dog Tucker, is really scared of fireworks so they gave him a pill and I think that helped him immensely.

Well, that’s about all for tonight….night y’all….
