I think I will be busy today we have quite a bit to do. I was up pretty early and I decided to start unloading the fridge and get it ready to go outside in the screen room.

Unloading the fridge and packing it in coolers and what ever is a lot of work. I finally finished and thought maybe I would try to get it outside.  I have a plan.

I pulled the fridge out turned it and it will not roll on carpeting.  Actually it doesn’t roll very good on solid floor so I laid it over and pulled it to the door. I twisted it around and got it lined up with the door, got on the end and lifted it up over the threshold and pulled it to the stairs and slid it down the stairs and then stood it up.  I started loading it again with the food I took out of it earlier.  I then plugged it in and it was wait for the truck. Got a phone call from Puente’s and they needed me to come and lead the driver to where we live.  It is only a couple of miles so it was OK with me.

After we got in on the porch I lined it up with the door and went and asked the neighbors, Joe and Don and they came over and helped me get it in the kitchen;  Only took a couple of minutes.  I started loading it with food from the old fridge.  Not an easy job, well, I think it isn’t one of my favorite jobs.

Linda went out with some of the women to the store.  I got the fridge running and hope it is better than our old one, probably won’t be, the old one did still work but not great.

Some excitement happened.  A guy ended up with his truck in the irrigation canal…

He had excuses…

Didn’t see the driver around when the police got there…

Didn’t do the truck any good…

I thought the tires would be ruined when they pulled it over the cement canal but they look OK, better than the truck for sure..

Linda got her new chair yesterday.  I think she likes it, it doesn’t rock which is what she wanted so it is great for her.

Another very nice day!  We decided to take a look around to see if we could find a new refrigerator.  The first place we stopped was a place called Puente's Appliances. We saw a couple of refrigerators that look quite nice and they were actually used ones.  The one we really liked was already sold and the next one looks exactly like the one we have and the price is right, $225 delivered!  We also checked some other furniture stores and they were all close to double the price, but they were new.

We spent around three hours driving around and finally stopped back and bought the used one, they will deliver it tomorrow around 11AM.  Sounds good to me.

Louise next door showed me the bloom on one of her plants, I think I posted one before but this was really neat.  They are huge compared to the plant…

We didn’t do a lot the rest of the day, I started moving some of the the  stuff on top of the fridge getting ready to move it outside.  I asked the neighbors if they would help me move the fridge into the house, I’m sure it isn’t heavy but  I know I can’t do it myself.

Watching TV tonight the channel I was watching went out, not sure where it went out to but it isn’t working.  It still wasn’t working when we went to bed, what a bummer….well, guess it is Night Y’all…

We were supposed to get rain but there aren’t any clouds in the sky!  Guess we will have to put up with some more sunny warm days.

I procrastinated writing my blog and now I am having a problem remembering what we did today.  Linda can’t remember either, must be catching.

I actually don’t think we did much today.  I have been trying to figure out how to fix some of the things that need to be done.  The tub needs to be redone.  I can’t stand up in the bath tub to take a shower so I would like to put a shower base in and take the tub out.  Well, the tub is really an odd size and the stool is right next to the tub so it can’t be any wider and if I remember right it is only 24 inches wide, not normal for sure.  We need to check a few places that sell RV and mobile home parts.  I did see a tank less water heater from Camping World that I think may work in here.  This water heater seems to have a little problem.  Runs out of hot water in about five minutes and it actually isn’t very hot.

We are just taking it easy tonight, watching a little TV and going to bed, I can sleep pretty good in the new rocking chair.  It is really nice.

I had a headache this morning and really didn’t feel like getting up, stayed in bed until 6:15AM.   Got Linda up so we could go to church.  She didn’t want to get up either.  Rough night last night.

We went to Mission First Baptist Church again today.  Had good services.

Got a pretty decent picture of Pastor Adrian today, he stayed still enough for a picture.

We came home, had some lunch and went to bed for a nap. Going to be a pretty quiet day.  Sat out in the screen room for quite awhile.  It was a beautiful day, the sun came out and warmed up to a comfortable 72 degrees!!  Love it!

Just going to take it easy today and rest up for a real exciting day tomorrow.  Probably won’t do anything tomorrow either but we need the rest and relaxation.   Night y’all…

Saturday November 24th 2012

It is still cloudy today and still pretty cool.  We don’t have a lot planned for today, except for tonight and we are going to go to a dance tonight.

It is cool in our house and I need to bake something to warm it up.  We have a box of cookie mix called “Whoopee Cookies.  They only took about ten minutes to bake but it sure did warm it up in here!

Sparky and I took a few walks and got our exercise.

Took a nap this afternoon getting ready for tonight.

We left here around 5:30 PM and headed to Llano RV Park about forty miles from here.  Joe and Mary, Don and Cheryl and us.  We had a good time.  The Renaissance Rockers, we have seen them a couple of times before and they are really good.

The lead singer with the hat and glasses is a brain surgeon.  They do a very good job with the singing also.

We got home around 11PM and we were sure ready for bed.  That was a lot of exercise!

We got rain last night and is still sprinkling a little bit…

We got a nice rain, I think about an inch or more!  They really need the rain here.  It is cool this morning but not really raining.

Went to Home Depot to check on a shower for our place.  They don’t have anything that would fit.  We didn’t stay here very long, they really didn’t have anything that I needed, or at least I didn’t see anything. 

We left there  and stopped at Leo’s, a gas station, for some chicken and Linda got a burrito.  She also got a jalapeno pepper, they said they were hot.  It actually was HOT!  She put the whole thing on her burrito and she was close to crying when she was done.  She liked it!

Took a short nap this afternoon and stayed home the rest of the day and watched TV the rest of the time until bed time.  Night Y’all….

This is Thanksgiving Day!  I posted my thanks yesterday because I knew that I would post this late, actually tomorrow…

Linda fixed a potato casserole to take to the get together at the club house. I think there was a pretty good turnout.  We had a good time and lots of food.  Janice, from Canada, brought rutabaga that I tried and I liked it. I thought it tasted like cauliflower.  I love cauliflower!  I brought some home for later.

Lots of things to do today.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and I was thinking of all the things we are thankful for… good friends, nice warm weather, good health, our wants are met not just our needs, but most of all I thank God for our Salvation!!! I know this is just a temporary home and we are just a passing through!!  God is good, I think especially good to us!  I want to thank Him for everything He has allowed us to do.

Some of the things we have gotten…

Bet you can’t guess what we are watching on Linda’s new TV, OK, you’re right, it’s Jeopardy.  No?  Oh well, it is TV anyway.

We bought a fan so we wouldn’t have to run the air conditioner and it has worked out just perfect.  The fan keeps it just comfortable in here.

I’ve been checking out places in our new place here (actually about 30 years old) and have found the bottom of the tub is about eight inches off the floor and that is why I can’t stand up straight in it.  If I can lower it about four or five inches it will be perfect.  The floor under the tub is bad so I will probably replace it and with all the other spots that are soft I may have a major renovation going on but maybe when it is done it will be the way I like it, or we like it, Linda doesn’t have a problem standing in the tub just getting in is a big problem. 

I think my computer is going to shut off so I am going to close  and say Night Y’all and have a great Thanksgiving Day and think about what you are thankful for OK?

Well, today I would like to go to Pulga.  Pulga is a flea market that is a  couple of miles down the road.  I like the flea market and I’m looking for a few things.  I did see something…

This little piggy wasn’t real happy but I guess it is in training.  I don’t think I would like to have a pet but Sparky would probably like it.

I picked some lemons today..

Someone had mentioned freezing the juice in ice cube trays.  Think I will try it and this should be enough.  Well, one filled up two thirds of the ice cube tray.  I had a bunch left over so I made lemonade.  I did put some sugar in it but it is really sour and I think maybe I got some oil from the rind in it also.  Sure needs more sugar!  Linda is trying it….

Sheryl, our neighbor, also from MO thought it was pretty good.  She really likes hers tart.

We had company this afternoon, our screen room is really nice for visiting even when it is warm outside.  I think the temperature, even at 84, is great out in the screen room.

Our home stays pretty warm.  When we went to bed it was cool outside but still pretty warm in here.  We were going to get a fan but we forgot and I really didn’t want to buy one at the flea market.

Watched a little TV and decided to go to bed.  I still have a hard time staying awake after the sun goes down  Night Y’all.

Monday November 19th 2012

It’s cloudy again today and I usually wear a jacket in the morning, the temperature is usually around 60 give or take a few degrees.  I think it is supposed to get warm today as it has for the last few days.  It gets into the low 80s but with a breeze it feels great.

I cleaned under the refrigerator today, lots of dust etc. in the coils.  Used the vacuum but the crevice tool just isn’t long enough so when we go to Wal Mart I am going to look for a long brush to try to get more out.  Maybe this will save a little electricity.  We still need a few odds and ends anyway. 

Took a picture of a Kiskadee and I’m not sure if this is spelled right but they are pretty birds and noisy too….

I had made a close up of the one bird but not sure where it is or even if I kept it… Oh well, you can still see they are colorful.

I am also trying to figure out the hood over the stove.  The light and fan work but the fan is pretty slow and there is a flap in there that won’t open with the wind that it generates.  Thought maybe I need to replace it or something.  I will keep on checking and thinking of how to fix it.

We are just taking it easy today other than the running we have done so I guess a little TV tonight and to bed…Night Y’all…

Sunday November 18th 2012

Church today, we will go to Mission First Baptist Church.  Pastor Adrian is a good preacher and I like it better than Blue Bonnet. Last year I walked there for church on Sunday morning.  Not bad but I like MFBC better.

Linda fixed fish tacos for lunch.  I fixed the cole slaw but that didn’t taste real good.  I think the pan needed something done to it. It was the cast iron skillet and I’m not sure it has ever been used before, they were OK but definitely not the best.

Got nice and warm today, supposed to be warm for the next week and the normal here for this time of year is 80. 

I figured out more things that I have to do but not today, it’s Sunday.  Nothing important, well, not to important.  The refrigerator needs to be cleaned underneath.  The fan over the stove doesn’t really work well so I may work on it tomorrow.  Probably will need a new motor or a new hood. We will check it out tomorrow.

We are just going to take it easy this afternoon, maybe take a nap.

Sparky found one of his toys, a piece of palm bark.  Not sure why he likes them but he likes to tear them apart, he has done this from the very first time we came down here.

I am also amazed at Sparky because we can leave him here alone and he doesn’t bark, well, when we leave he knows he isn’t going and he just lays down and is very good.  What he does while we are away, well, not sure what he does.

Doing little things around the house today, I fixed the solar lights we brought down, put in recharged batteries  and stuck them in the ground by the car port.  Will see what they look like tonight.

We went to HEB today.  Spent a lot of money, they have these sales, by something and get a bunch of other stuff free, but they will still make money but it sounds good to us …

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day and we bought a bunch of stuff for the dinner. Linda is going to make the pretzel salad and the potato casserole.

Velda brought Linda a tortilla warmer…

The tortilla warmer is a lot nicer than a plate or towels etc.  Works great!

Sparky at Colors kind of like each other…

Bob has two cats, Colors and Chi Chi.  Chi Chi doesn’t like dogs and Chi Chi is a Manx, no tail.

Linda fixed hamburgers for supper, that hit the spot!!

Can’t think of much else that we did so I guess it is time to say Night Y’all..

Friday November 16th 2012

Well, I thought the electric was all fixed now the kitchen light won’t turn on. I checked and there is no electricity going to it at all.  Velda happened to come over and she gave Linda tortilla warmer, I will have to take a picture of it, should have gotten a picture of Velda giving it to her, maybe tomorrow.

Back to the electricity, Dale came over and brought his handy dandy tester and sure enough, there was no electricity to it so we, he, checked the wires going into the box in the bedroom and everything seemed to be OK and he started flipping switches and Velda hollered that it came on, hmmm, wonder which one and he switched them back on and it is connected to the air conditioner in the living room.  I had left them off because I figured we wouldn’t use them but the kitchen light is connected to it so guess I will have to use it (the breaker switch).

Now I know I have a picture to post….

Here is a banana tree across the street from us.  The year before they all froze but they have all come back and this one has bananas on it and I think they are so neat.  They grow upside down, Darin had one out in San Diego and he cut it down, I was so disappointed.I guess they are kind of messy, I know Cliff, the maintenance guy, says he hates them also.

Almost forgot that this morning was the “Coffee Clutch” or what ever you want to call it.  Eleanor hosted this morning and there were only four of us there including Eleanor!  Eleanor is from Cedar Rapids IA.  I think she has been here a month now.  If I’m not mistaken this is the first coffee so some probably forgot about it.  Dan and Laurel were there also.  Jay came in later and had a couple donuts.

We made a trip to Wal Mart and spent a bunch of money.  Getting started is really expensive!  I was used to the camper where we brought almost everything with us.  Bernie and Eleanor left a lot of stuff but we still needed a lot more, well, we probably bought a lot more than we actually needed.

Had cereal for supper, it really hit the spot.  I was kind of tired tonight, I slept through a lot of the shows, or dozed, so I missed a lot.  When I went to bed I thought I wouldn’t be able to go to sleep but I didn’t have much of a problem there….Night Y’all…

Well, I still have a problem with the electric!  I have been calling John back in Sterling asking him about what I should do and he has been guiding me step by step.  There has been so many things that I did wrong and had to fix that I can’t even begin to tell about it.  I did get it fixed though and now everything seems to be working except for the kitchen light.  I will work on that tomorrow.

Linda is using the new kitchen…

She is making egg burritos and they were very good. 

We are going to take it easy tonight and watch some of our favorite shows.  We finally got Dish to give us the local channels.

Dale and Velda came in today.  Guess they had a long day traveling and they were about to take it easy for the night.

Wednesday November 14th 2012

Lots of stuff to do today, have lots to unload and put away.  I did a lot of things and the Dish guy is supposed to come today to put up a new dish.

We get TV on the antennae but can’t get the other channels.  He is supposed to be here this afternoon.

I saw Jack and Mary yesterday and she said she would stop by this morning.  Linda got up pretty early for her.

Mary stopped by around 11AM

Mary is a nice lady and we had a good visit.

The Dish guy got here just after Mary left.  Took him a couple hours to get it all done and come to find out something is wired wrong, either in the electric coming in or something in our home.  I started checking it out after he left and what a mess.  I have never seen receptacles like these.  Can’t get them out and can’t get them apart, not like any I’ve ever seen before.  We went to Wal Mart and got some new ones.  Have to wait until tomorrow to put it in.

I think these yellow flowers are great and I think the must bloom year around.

Well, we bought a blanket, I was cold last night.  We didn’t bring a blanket with us but we made it OK.

I found out this morning that I don’t have a coffee pot here!  Another thing we picked up at Wal Mart.

Got on the road pretty early this morning around 7:30AM.  Nice cool, very cool, morning.  Took quite awhile to defrost the rear window.  Nice tail wind though so maybe we will get even better mileage.

It was funny, we stopped at a station for gas and I told Linda the mileage and I filled up the car.  She was inside so I thought I would do the calculations on the mileage, should have let her do it.  I knew the mileage was pretty good but I made a mistake, it was actually on the mileage.  I messed up her paper and finally quit.  When she started I told her the mileage again and found I was around a hundred miles off on what I had told her the first time.  Averaged around 39 MPG this tank.  I think we will probably do very well because the wind was behind us all the way.

We arrived at “home”  around 5PM and was really glad we could get out. 

That is our place and the sign coming into the park.

Lots of stuff to do and unload.  I am waiting until tomorrow to turn on the water heater but everything else was OK.

Monday November 12th 2012

Up at 5AM this morning, Linda even wanted to get up early so I woke her up at 5:15AM and we started getting stuff put together. 

Last night after church it was raining and by the time we got home it was really raining hard, not going to load the car in this kind of weather.  This morning though is different, it isn’t raining and it is cold and the wind is blowing.  I started carrying stuff out and didn’t pay much attention to where I was putting things, I will be unloading it tomorrow!  To bad I couldn’t remember where I did put things, we needed some of that “stuff”.

Got on the road at 8:15AM which is about an hour later than we planned.  The wind is behind us so maybe we will get decent gas mileage, sure hope so.   Got into Arkansas and there was a station there and the gas was 2.95 but I don’t really need it now, luckily we found a station that we got it for the same price.  Sure isn’t that price all over!

We are making pretty good time and want to make it to Nacogdoches tonight, we have reservations at the same motel we stayed at this summer, twice!  Not a great motel but Sparky can stay here!

We had a real nice day, beautiful sunshine and nice cool weather, it warmed up from 38 to 58 by the time we hit Texas but it is supposed to freeze here tonight.  Winter is coming!

We thank the Lord for watching over us as we travel.  I get tired and sometimes I would really like to take a nap but even if I stopped I couldn’t go to sleep so we stop at the rest area or McDonald’s, walk around for awhile or get a cup of coffee and back on the road.  I figured we would drive around 490 miles today and it ended up being about 530, give or take.

We made it to Nacogdoches before dark which I was really glad, I really don’t like driving at night.  Pickup trucks are the worst for their lights.  I’m not sure why but I think all pickup trucks lights are aimed at oncoming cars and they are blinding, for me!

We are taking it easy tonight, Sparky was kind of hyper from riding all day but I think he will sleep well tonight, me too!  Will watch a little TV and of course catch up on my blog writing.  About time hey….  Night Y’all..

We have a pretty big day today, I got Linda’s casserole in the oven by 7AM and I grilled the smoked sausage and kind of fried up some onions.  Really smells good in the house.

The women are singing today so I figure we won’t have choir practice and I was pretty close to right even though the men sang in the choir until the women sang their special and we left the choir loft.

Not sure how to explain the service this morning.  It was excellent!  It consisted of slides, videos, preaching and readings.  After watching the video I knew I was in trouble.  The video was about older vets and they are doing things with their grandkids and the video was about the war and during the movie three young service people came into the theater and one by one all the people stood and saluted them, doesn’t sound like much but it was a tear jerker and the song the women sang, I’ll Cry American Tears, was another tear jerker.

When my turn came I lost it, sorry but I couldn’t hold it back, lucky I made it through the reading, “What is an American Veteran"?  Whoa!  I made it but I stumbled through most of it and my nose and eyes were running.  Excellent service though despite all that.

Dinner after was excellent, wow, all the food that we had and all the food that was left over and what is going to happen to all of it, I think it will get eaten.

Went to North Acres this afternoon, stopped at J.W and Omalene’s to practice with someone I don’t think I know but am willing to sing with almost anyone!  Her name is Shelly (I think) and the song we are singing is “What A Day That Will Be” and they added something to the end and Omalene helped me learn it.  It sounds really good.  Found out that Shelly is the piano player.

Shelly, J.W., Omalene and me,  I even wore a jacket and tie!  That is unusual for me.  Shelly sang a song by herself first and she has a beautiful voice and for a small person she can really belt out a tune!

He is a good preacher and down to earth with his presentation, no big words to make us wonder what he is saying. 

Well, guess that about sums up the day, quite a long day but very fulfilling. We need to get home and relax.

Linda was ready for bed at 10PM and that is really unusual!!!  Night Y’all..

Saturday November 10th 2012

Today is just gorgeous!  It is a little cool this morning but not bad at all.  Weather forecaster says we have rain and cold coming.  Guess it is almost the middle of November, time for cold weather and rain.

We didn’t do a lot today, just walked around outside and enjoyed the gorgeous weather.

Linda fixed her casserole for church tomorrow, didn’t bake it but got it all mixed up.  It is a hash brown casserole and she made it before and it was really good.  I am going to make some smoked sausage with onions.  Hope it goes over good.

The casserole Linda made must weigh ten pounds, it is really heavy.  Linda says I have to get it in the oven tomorrow by 7AM.  She though the last one wasn’t quite done so I will have to remember to get it on tomorrow, early.

Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day and Pastor John is having it especially for the Veterans.  I have a short reading to do and it should go pretty good, I think I’ve read it over about fifty times so I have it down pretty good.

Tomorrow evening I am going to sing at North Acres with J.W. and Omalene.  I like them, met them at Fellowship and sang with them there one time.  Should have done it more.  She keeps saying I should sing a solo but I’m not a solo singer.  I like singing with a group, makes me sound better.

I went over and talked with Brother Larry for awhile this evening and we talk about most everything, world affairs to bugs in the grass..   I like Brother Larry, he is a preacher in Puxico and we went there one time but it is almost an hour drive to get there.  He is a good preacher though.

The last time I was over talking to Larry I had to take a picture of the sunset, well, another beautiful sunset…

Just can’t get over the beautiful sunset!!  God is VERY GOOD!

We didn’t do much else tonight just took it easy and went to bed early, got a big day tomorrow…Night Y’all

Well, today is the day we stayed home for…we are going to see the doctor at 9AM.  Hope all is OK, funny though, they didn’t call and remind us of our appointments, maybe they know we will be there!

We got ready and went into town and got there a little early and guess what..we don’t have an appointment but Linda has the appointment card for 9AM today and the receptionist said she can’t figure it out but I think I know what happened, Linda had to come in for something and I’m not sure what it was but I figure that was the appointment and I decided I didn’t even have to see the doctor even though we both have something to tell him about, Linda wanted to get a flu shot and I wanted him to check my cheeks….  To much information for sure.

We stopped at Wal Mart and picked up a few things to take with us, we have almost to much stuff to take already but some things we probably will need.

Cold again this morning but looks like it could be another nice day.

I am finishing up the pump house, well, I’ve been working on it for over a year now and it’s about time I finish it up, right?  Well, I didn’t do much, made a little platform for the blanket to lay on,  The blanket is a wrap for a water heater.  Nice and thick so the light that is on the inside may not even have to work and that would be nice?  I also covered the water bib.  Didn’t take very long just finding and cutting the right pieces for the blanket to lay on.

I decided to bake Linda some jalapeno bread.  We still have a few packages of the jalapenos that I grew here.  Very HOT!  The bread didn’t turn out to bad, looks kind of funny though..

We tried a piece and boy it has some heat to it for sure!  I kind of go the plain route because this kind of bothers my stomach.

We took a nap this afternoon, nice to be able to take a nap for sure…

We watched TV tonight after a nice supper of eggs, toast and hash browns, that was really good!

Finally the election is over and we don’t have to watch the commercials anymore!!  Yeah!

Really disappointed in the results of the election but I know God is in control and I did my part by voting.  Linda watched all the election results and after a few hours, around 10PM I went to bed and woke up at midnight to hear Romney give his speech conceding the election, didn’t figure he had much of a chance after watching for awhile, well, I didn’t figure he would win anyway so now we will see what happens in the next four years. The stock market took a dive today wonder what else will happen???

Didn’t do a lot around the house, oh, I got a picture this morning…

This is the field across the road, looks white doesn’t it???  Frost!  Got pretty chilly last night but I think it is going to be a great day.

Went to church tonight.  Not many people there but Pastor always seems to get a good discussion going.  Discussed pledges.  Interesting.  I figure a pledge is something like a promise.  Do we renew pledges?  I don’t know, maybe yes, like renewing your wedding vows?

YES!! Today is voting day!  I think I will get a few things done before I get Linda up though.  I defrosted the freezer.  Didn’t take long and I did find a few things in there that I didn’t remember that we had, nice!

We tried a slice of my oatmeal bread that I baked yesterday…

I made this yesterday and I used a lot of oatmeal in it.  I think it tastes pretty good.  Maybe with the oatmeal it is also good for us!

We went to town and I left Linda off at McDonald’s and I helped her get online and then I went to get the oil changed in the car, went to the post office and mailed a CD to Jeanne.

Went back to McDonald’s and we had a burger and I took a picture of the girl at the counter, she had the biggest smile and I even showed her the picture and she said she was freaking out and the manager asked me to delete the picture so I did.  Made me feel bad that I made her feel bad, not sure what her problem was but guess she thought I was messing with her or something so I don’t have a picture of her.

I did get a picture of the Lilac Bush in our front yard.  Remember this is November sixth…

Is this weird or what??  I figure because we were so dry this summer and finally got some rain that it decided it was Spring again.  They are small but they are still pretty.

Back to this morning, we voted and they said that this was really busy for a country polling place.  They told Linda she was number 120!  They said some elections they only have ten or twelve.  Think people want a change?

Well, we are staying home and trying to stay warm.  It is really chilly and I get cold pretty fast.   Time to say Night Y’all…

Monday November 5th 2012

Today is the day before election and I can’t hardly wait to get the commercials for people running to get over!!  This is the worst year for negative commercials that I remember.  If I heard right there has been about two billion dollars spent on ads for politicians.  Wonder why they spend more to get elected than they will ever get back (legally)??  Think maybe they take bribes?  DUH!!  Why spend millions to get elected and only get paid a fraction of that amount?  I guess the media comes out on top of the spending.

Not going to do to much today, got my blog done for the last two days, I get lost sometimes and forget to do the blog.

I made some macaroni and cheese with a little chili for supper….

Doesn’t look real good but it was tasty.

I figured out tonight that with all the political commercials that if I pause the show for awhile I can fast forward through all the commercials and when I’m caught up I pause again for awhile.  I like to watch American Pickers and it is on a station that doesn’t show political commercials.  Also watched Bones on the Fox Channel which doesn’t show the political commercials, or maybe they did and I fast forwarded through them..

Well, not a real exciting day, tomorrow we have quite a few things planned so guess I will say Night Y’all….

Sunday November 4th 2012

Only a couple more days of the really annoying commercials for the politicians.  Come on Wednesday!!

Going to church today at Morehouse and then tonight I will go to North Acres because church was cancelled tonight.

Linda went to church with me today and even sang in the choir!  Hope she didn’t over do the activity and get sick again.

Had a good day at church and then went home and had pizza.  It hit the spot.

The lady that sang the special music at North Acres name is Yvonne.  It is pronounced Y-vonne.   She did a very good job and has a very nice voice..

I sure like the telephoto on my new camera and the picture isn’t blurry.  I am sitting probably 30 feet away from her, very good camera.

We didn’t do much tonight, I played on my little tablet.  I have been playing Angry Bird and finally got through the first level, I guess that is what you call it, there were 21 levels in the first level and the 21st level took me about three weeks to finally get it done.  I am not good at playing Angry Birds but it is something to do when there isn’t anything on TV that I like.

Not a lot on TV until The Good Wife and The Mentalist.  They were pretty good tonight.

Another chilly day but it may warm up to around 60 which won’t be to bad if the wind isn’t blowing.

Well, I tried my new toy, the cassette player transfer thing, and it doesn’t work!  The deck works fine but the CD for the computer is blank.  Tape player sounds pretty good.  I looked on line and Amazon had for for about a fourth the price I paid at Radio Shack but I took it back and they got me a new cd and the guy actually downloaded it for me to make sure it worked. He also told me I would have to download itunes from the internet. I really didn’t want to do that but I did.

To make a long story short I spent all day trying to get this thing to work and finally got it and I made a couple of CDs and by about 5PM I finally finished.

 

I made supper tonight.  We had some fish left over and I had a bag of cabbage slaw.  I fried the cabbage and we had fish tacos for supper.  They hit the spot.  I like most everything though.  That was about the last of our day.  Not much on TV but the weather channel had a special on the crash of a Boeing 727 in the Mexican desert.  They crashed it on purpose and they recorded the crash from inside the plane and outside and they had crash dummies inside to see what happened to them.  It was very interesting!  Don’t think I ever want to go through a crash though.

I sure will be glad when the voting is over and the commercials stop on TV!  I can’t believe the negativity in this campaign.  They are trying to see who can make the other sound worse.

It is a cool morning but I think it will warm up pretty nice today.  I need a day to relax and recoup from mowing for three days straight.

I want to go to Lowe’s today and look at a Roto Zip to take to Texas.  I had a good time looking around Menard’s, not Lowes, and getting ideas for things that we want to do here and in Texas.  I am going to wait to buy a saw, still not sure what I want to get.  Linda is the only one that bought anything.  Dog treats etc..

We went out to eat for lunch…

Yes sir, Steak n Shake!  This was actually my idea even though Linda usually wants to go here.  They have great hamburgers!!!

The burgers were excellent and our waitress was really nice, her name is Alisha and I got a picture of her…

I have a picture of her with our desert but I didn’t want anyone to know that we splurged for a shake and an ice cream sandwich!  This was a better picture of her anyway.  I had to comment on her hair, I think it looks very nice.  She explained that she did it herself, not her own hair though.  Nice smile..

We stopped at Radio Shack and I bought another toy.  I got a recorder, well, it transfers cassette tapes to the computer. I will try it out tomorrow.

We were tired when we got home so we took a nap and then took it easy the rest of the night.  Guess it is time to say Night Y’all,,,,
