We got some rain this morning! Not the first rain since we’ve been here but a needed rain even though it was just a little. There is more in the forecast so maybe it will rain some more later, I think it is supposed to rain for the next two or three days, not much, but some.
We talked to Dale and Velda and we decided to try a new restaurant called Pappadeaux. When we got there it looked like it could be kind of fancy. Most people looked like business people and were dressed better than us but that was OK. The prices were on the high side for us but we decided to stay. They started out with a partial loaf of bread which was very good. We asked for some more but before they brought it they brought our dinners. We told them to forget the bread because the servings were really large. Linda got a Po Boy sandwich that looked like it must have been at least twelve inches long with about a pound of french fries. I ordered a chicken linguine picayune and it came in a bowl that was really big. Dale and Velda both ordered shrimp. They said theirs was good and Linda really like hers, it had fried catfish in it and mine was excellent. I would order it again. It was expensive but very good.
When we left there Velda mentioned the Santa Anna Wildlife Refuge so we headed down there. It was quite a drive but we got to pick up our Senior Pass for $10 and got into the refuge and saw a movie about it. One day we will go back down there to take the tour. It is over two thousand acres and the guided tour takes about an hour and a half. Something to do for a day.
We went on home and stayed for the rest of the day. We need to go to Wal Mart but I think we will save that for tomorrow. I am still stuffed from that dinner. Nothing going on tonight. The wind picked up and it is still pretty warm out. I think the low tonight is only supposed to get into the upper sixties. Going to be a little warm.
Time to say night y’all…
