Sunday July 4th 2010

This is the 4th of July and I don’t have to work!  Got up at my normal time, when it got light, and it was very cloudy and dark. It is raining very lightly but enough to get every thing wet.  We got ready to go to church and Ron stopped by and talked for awhile then Bobby saw Linda outside and had to stop and say hi to her. If you don’t happen to be a camper, I will tell you that camping is a great place to meet people and make many really good friends. On the way back from San Diego, I can’t remember how many people we stopped to visit with that we had met in just the last couple of years.  We missed Jim and Gail in Texas so we are going to stop in Jackson MS to see them for a short visit.  People have some really interesting stories.

This is the Carpenter’s House Church we went to for Sunday Morning service. This is also the church that the Christian Resort Ministries are looking at for a home base.  The church is quite nice.  Looks small outside but the inside has a lot of room.

Terry Lansdale is the pastor and had a nice Independence Day service. He expounded on the fact that our nation was started by people that wanted freedom and a government “of the people, by the people and for the people”.  A fact that I didn’t know was that 54 of the 56 people that signed the Declaration of Independence were “Born again Christians”.  Seems like most of the leaders of our nation now aren’t Christians at all. I am not a political know it all, but he also mentioned that there is no mention of the “separation of church and state” in our constitution!  I don’t know but with all the Christians signing these things I would imagine he is correct. Like I said I don’t know much about the history of our government and I may have said things backwards here but I still believe our country is going down the tubes because of a few people that are atheists and don’t want God mentioned anywhere and we just sit and take it.  I had an email this morning that is funny but seems to be true about the differences between Republicans and Democrats.  If I can do it I think I will put it in here…

Which side of the fence?

If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Democrats demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended".

I thought that was something to think about, true or not true, doesn’t matter, but if you watch the left and far left of our government, see what you think.

This is Pastor Terry and the inside of the church.  It isn’t big but it is very nice.

Uh Oh, I’m having a brain snooze….Can’t remember what we did after church.  OK we went to Wal Mart to pick up some birthday cards for Dee and Gianna, our daughter and grand daughter.  They both have birthdays this month.  We also mailed a letter to Don and LaVon.  How’s that for remembering???

We took it easy this afternoon, had some of that roast beef and potatoes for dinner, excellent, one of my favorite meals, leftovers.

Got to take a nap this afternoon and then went for a little walk, actually it was a little walk, to many people out and about to talk to.  Saw Nick, Sherry and Brianne and talked to them for quite awhile, then saw Wilber and Bernie and they were heading out to see the fireworks.  We are staying in, we heard them, probably could have seen them if we went outside.

Hope you all had a great 4th of July, Bye Y’all..

  1. Or you could have driven up to Branson View RV Park and got a great view of the fireworks.
Dennis and Sally loved meeting y'all, but Dennis apologized that he couldn't spend more time with you.
