Time to head back “home” to Sikeston. This has been an excellent weekend! We visited more people than we even hoped for! All my family came to lunch in Franklin Grove and we had a great visit. We got to see people at Harvest Time that we hadn’t seen in a long time and they always ask if we were back to stay for good. Well, we are home in Sikeston now so unless the Lord intervenes we won’t be back to stay". We sure miss all our friends back in Illinois and the church.
We got on the road about 8:30AM…really early for us! It is very cool this morning with a North wind which is kind of good, it helps us while we are driving south. I had filled up with gas at Wal Mart in Dixon and we drove all the way home and then back to Sikeston before filling up! I was very happy, we averaged over 42 MPG on the way home. I think our average for the whole trip was probably about 38-39MPG. Took 10 gallons to fill up with almost 430 miles since the last fill up.
We got the car unloaded and tried to get things back to normal (?) before taking it easy for the night. Linda is really tired. She has been falling asleep almost since we left Rock Falls! Tonight is no different. Will be nice to sleep in our own bed again.
Sparky did very good at the vet’s. He acted like he wanted to go back to the kennel again!! Glad he did good. Won’t be so bad leaving him again.
Guess that is about all for today so adios….Night Y’all..
