Friday August 13th 2010

18 days to go, more or less…. The time is going by quickly, good thing, today it broke the record by one degree - 101.  We went to Springfield and the temp on the car at one point on the way home reached 105. That is really warm, still better than 30 with wind and sleet.  I’ll take this anytime over cold, damp, windy cloudy weather.

This is our day off and I let Linda sleep in.  I wanted to add this because when she got up and took her glucose reading it was down to 97 which is pretty normal. Yesterday it was 126 I think so it does fluctuate somewhat. Guess it depends on what she eats.

We stopped at Braum’s on the way back from Springfield and had a burger and a cherry lemon slush or something like that.  It was good, wasn’t sure about the slush but it was cold, even had big pieces of cherries in it.

We took it easy tonight, may take a ride with Daniel and Rachael tomorrow to Republic. That will be different, we have never been there before.  We went through Reed Springs yesterday.  The little town may have been a thriving little city at one time.  Looked like most everything was closed now.

The air conditioner at the camper keeps us cool but it sure is noisy and it really works hard.  Checked at Camping World for a new one and they run close to $900.  Will keep this one for awhile I guess.

Going to take it easy tonight, watch some TV and play a few games on the computer and then hit the sack…..Good night Y’all….

Wanted to add a picture of Charles Z from New York City.  Today is Charlie’s birthday….. Wonder if he was born on Friday the 13th???

Charles and Pat are very good friends and we have been keeping in touch since we worked at Lake Pointe together, well, we didn’t work together but we were there at the same time.  They did security and we did cleaning. We love to listen to them talk because of the accent, very pronounced I might add.  We had a lot of good time together and look forward to seeing them again.  They sold, or are selling their house in New York and will be going full time after that.  Happy Birthday Charlie!!!!  After reading this I should add that we like talking to them because they are funny and have many very interesting stories, not just because of the New York accent!!
