Christmas Day, the day we celebrate Jesus’s birth!  I think it is going to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood.  The sun is shining and it is going to be very warm, perfect day for Christmas!

We opened our package from Brenna and we got a beautiful pair of boots for Linda and some fruit and nuts and I got a beautiful mixing  bowl!

Linda’s boots are nice and warm and the bowl is big enough to mix up a few loaves of bread!  Haven’t tried the fruit or nuts yet though.  I am anxious to use the bowl to see how it works.

We are having our Christmas dinner at the clubhouse.  Linda made a chocolate desert and baked beans. The dinner was great, the ham was furnished and the rest of the stuff was stupendous!  Had a great time.

This is what Is left of my dinner.  Actually Mary bought a birthday cake with my name on it.  We all had a pretty good time I think.  I ate way to much.  I should have taken a group picture but I just took individual pictures. Here is a picture of Frank and Bob, I didn’t get their dogs, Scooter and Buddy, they weren’t at the dinner….

They brought a shrimp and rice dish that was really good.

We took a nap this afternoon, probably not a good idea after eating so much but I couldn’t stay awake.

We watched some TV and I played on my new computer until some people outside started singing, thought the were Mexican Mariachi's for awhile but they were singing in English!  It was Don and Cheryl serenading us with a birthday song for me, how sweet…

The weather is starting to cool off now so we shut up the house so I wouldn’t have to get up during the night to do it.  It is supposed to get down into the thirties tonight and that is way to cold to have all the windows open.  Going to be cool for a couple of days then warm up again. This is one of those winters that will be up and down temperature wise.

Second day for the new computer and I have had a good time with it and my Norton anti virus did its job when I opened an email.  Guess that was good.

I went out early this morning and got Linda a Christmas card and a little candy.

We went to Peter Piper Pizza at noon with Don and Cheryl.  I really didn’t want my birthday known but….

No such luck….

I think I counted fourteen here today..

Went to Wal Mart after to get a few things, as usual.

Got to take a little nap this afternoon and feel pretty good this evening.  I’ve been working on the computer and decided it was time to write the blog.  Linda is going to fix a desert for tomorrow and she has pork fajitas in the crockpot for later.

May not look the greatest but it sure smells good and I’m sure it will be great!

Well, time to say Night Y’all but I want to thank all those that wished me a Happy Birthday, thank you!   Jesus is the reason for celebration though.  Thank you Jesus!

Who!!!  I finally got a computer and downloaded Windows Live Writer that I need to post my blog.  What a job!  LaVon did it for me the last two times and I sure appreciated that.

I bought a new Toshiba computer with Windows 8…

I couldn’t get the computer to do anything and what really upset me is that it didn’t have Solitaire on it, nada, no solitaire at all.  The games that were on it you have to pay for and probably ones I couldn’t even play, I took it back after two days.  When I took it back I got another one, not a Toshiba but an Acer Notebook.

I got this yesterday and today I downloaded more than I did while I had the Toshiba and I had to download the first part at Burger King.  The Wi-Fi here is terribly slow but I have downloaded everything here, well, after getting the phone to work I used it to download the rest of what I needed.  Hopefully I will be able to post this on my blog.  (I downloaded all this here at home!)

I definitely can’t remember what we did the last few days.  I know we went to Don and Cheryl’s last night for a Mexican supper and then a game of Newlywed Game, well, something like that.  We didn’t do to bad, well, Linda didn’t do to bad, she knows me better than I know her.  Had a really good time.

I don’t think I will do much more here because this is mostly a test to make sure it works.  I like the little computer, I think it is just about the right size. Time though to say Night Y’all….

Trying this again on my phone. Computer crashed:-( and I really don't want to buy another one.
It was cool this morning around 51 I think and this afternoon it is 87, sure warmed up. Tomorrow is supposed to be 90 then Thursday 65 for a high, think I might freeze!!
We aren't going to do much today, just soak up some of the nice warm weather. May go to Walmart this evening then again maybe not.  I don't like typing on the phone, I make way to many mistakes and I'm not sure if I can post this.

December 15-16-17 2012

This post is for December 15-16-17 and I think my computer crashed. Sure couldn’t get it to work.  Every time it shuts down for updates and restarts it takes a very long time to come back on and this time it wouldn’t.  I let it sit for a couple of hours to try to get it to finish but it wouldn’t and this morning it finally came back on but said it couldn’t fix the problem so I have to get the rest of my pictures downloaded on the external hard drive.

I’m not going to write any more so this may be a Night Y’all for quite awhile if the computer won’t come back on again.

Wednesday December 14th 2012

We don’t have anything planned for today except for the coffee clutch today.  I decided to go ahead and sign up again for it since no one else did.  Linda is going to make gravy and I’m going to make the biscuits and some cinnamon rolls.  I got up at 5:30AM to get it started and I had a hard time with the yeast.  Not sure if it is good yeast or not but I couldn’t get it to raise.  Hope they turn out OK.

I made 21 biscuits for the gravy and I had five left over plus there was a dab of gravy.  For the small crowd that was there almost everything got eaten. Linda took the last two cinnamon rolls to Cheryl and stayed and talked with her for about an hour.  I was in the clubhouse for about another hour talking to Don and getting things ready to take back home. (People said it was all good).

I did up the dishes when I got home so they wouldn’t be sitting around.

We watched some of the shows that we recorded last night when we went to the dance.   The three shows took up most of the afternoon.

I fixed supper tonight, had brisket, potato and vegetable.  The brisket was excellent.  We bought it at H.E.B. and divided it into 5 or 6 piece packages.  I’m not sure how many she got but we have enough to last us for quite awhile.

The shooting in Connecticut was terrible, wonder what is going on with people these days.  According to Hillary it takes a village to raise a child, the village must be doing something wrong.  Maybe the family needs Jesus, you think????  Guess the government will do it’s thing though and make everything OK.   Hogwash!

We had a shooting tonight, well, hopefully no one got hurt but it sure scared us.  Around midnight, maybe later we heard a car and about 3 to 5 shots really close together and really close, scared us and Sparky!  That was just a little to close.  We wonder about our safety now. 

Well, time to go back to sleep…  Night Y’all…..

Thursday December 13th 2012

Well, this month Friday the 13th came on a Thursday!!  How about that???

We don’t have a lot planned for today, we will go to the dance tonight and do a little practicing again.  We really need the practice.

Joe is adding on, or enclosing, the porch area.  I helped a little bit but seeing as how I’m not much of a carpenter and there isn’t a lot of room, Don is helping most of the time.  He knows how to do this stuff, I sure don’t.  Got a picture of it.  I helped put in the windows and put on the tar paper….

It is quite a project.  Joe is getting tired and when they get the siding put on I think he is going to call it quits until next year.   I have a project that I would like to do but not sure if I will do it this year or not.  I have to tear out some flooring and the more I look the more I’m going to have to do if I want to do it right.  I will have to take out the cabinets (bottom) and then the tub plus some other stuff and I’m not sure I want to tackle it this year.

Our water heater is working great.  The water in the shower stays constant as long as no one else turns on the cold water, then it gets a little warmer. Hasn’t been bad though.

Well, the dance tonight was OK, we are getting better at the two step, the waltz needs a lot more practice and we didn’t even try the bop.  That will take a lot of practice.  We did get to do the Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle.  Had a good time but when we were done it was time to go to bed…   Night Y’all…
