Tuesday November 6th 2012

YES!! Today is voting day!  I think I will get a few things done before I get Linda up though.  I defrosted the freezer.  Didn’t take long and I did find a few things in there that I didn’t remember that we had, nice!

We tried a slice of my oatmeal bread that I baked yesterday…

I made this yesterday and I used a lot of oatmeal in it.  I think it tastes pretty good.  Maybe with the oatmeal it is also good for us!

We went to town and I left Linda off at McDonald’s and I helped her get online and then I went to get the oil changed in the car, went to the post office and mailed a CD to Jeanne.

Went back to McDonald’s and we had a burger and I took a picture of the girl at the counter, she had the biggest smile and I even showed her the picture and she said she was freaking out and the manager asked me to delete the picture so I did.  Made me feel bad that I made her feel bad, not sure what her problem was but guess she thought I was messing with her or something so I don’t have a picture of her.

I did get a picture of the Lilac Bush in our front yard.  Remember this is November sixth…

Is this weird or what??  I figure because we were so dry this summer and finally got some rain that it decided it was Spring again.  They are small but they are still pretty.

Back to this morning, we voted and they said that this was really busy for a country polling place.  They told Linda she was number 120!  They said some elections they only have ten or twelve.  Think people want a change?

Well, we are staying home and trying to stay warm.  It is really chilly and I get cold pretty fast.   Time to say Night Y’all…

Monday November 5th 2012

Today is the day before election and I can’t hardly wait to get the commercials for people running to get over!!  This is the worst year for negative commercials that I remember.  If I heard right there has been about two billion dollars spent on ads for politicians.  Wonder why they spend more to get elected than they will ever get back (legally)??  Think maybe they take bribes?  DUH!!  Why spend millions to get elected and only get paid a fraction of that amount?  I guess the media comes out on top of the spending.

Not going to do to much today, got my blog done for the last two days, I get lost sometimes and forget to do the blog.

I made some macaroni and cheese with a little chili for supper….

Doesn’t look real good but it was tasty.

I figured out tonight that with all the political commercials that if I pause the show for awhile I can fast forward through all the commercials and when I’m caught up I pause again for awhile.  I like to watch American Pickers and it is on a station that doesn’t show political commercials.  Also watched Bones on the Fox Channel which doesn’t show the political commercials, or maybe they did and I fast forwarded through them..

Well, not a real exciting day, tomorrow we have quite a few things planned so guess I will say Night Y’all….

Sunday November 4th 2012

Only a couple more days of the really annoying commercials for the politicians.  Come on Wednesday!!

Going to church today at Morehouse and then tonight I will go to North Acres because church was cancelled tonight.

Linda went to church with me today and even sang in the choir!  Hope she didn’t over do the activity and get sick again.

Had a good day at church and then went home and had pizza.  It hit the spot.

The lady that sang the special music at North Acres name is Yvonne.  It is pronounced Y-vonne.   She did a very good job and has a very nice voice..

I sure like the telephoto on my new camera and the picture isn’t blurry.  I am sitting probably 30 feet away from her, very good camera.

We didn’t do much tonight, I played on my little tablet.  I have been playing Angry Bird and finally got through the first level, I guess that is what you call it, there were 21 levels in the first level and the 21st level took me about three weeks to finally get it done.  I am not good at playing Angry Birds but it is something to do when there isn’t anything on TV that I like.

Not a lot on TV until The Good Wife and The Mentalist.  They were pretty good tonight.

Another chilly day but it may warm up to around 60 which won’t be to bad if the wind isn’t blowing.

Well, I tried my new toy, the cassette player transfer thing, and it doesn’t work!  The deck works fine but the CD for the computer is blank.  Tape player sounds pretty good.  I looked on line and Amazon had for for about a fourth the price I paid at Radio Shack but I took it back and they got me a new cd and the guy actually downloaded it for me to make sure it worked. He also told me I would have to download itunes from the internet. I really didn’t want to do that but I did.

To make a long story short I spent all day trying to get this thing to work and finally got it and I made a couple of CDs and by about 5PM I finally finished.

 

I made supper tonight.  We had some fish left over and I had a bag of cabbage slaw.  I fried the cabbage and we had fish tacos for supper.  They hit the spot.  I like most everything though.  That was about the last of our day.  Not much on TV but the weather channel had a special on the crash of a Boeing 727 in the Mexican desert.  They crashed it on purpose and they recorded the crash from inside the plane and outside and they had crash dummies inside to see what happened to them.  It was very interesting!  Don’t think I ever want to go through a crash though.

I sure will be glad when the voting is over and the commercials stop on TV!  I can’t believe the negativity in this campaign.  They are trying to see who can make the other sound worse.

It is a cool morning but I think it will warm up pretty nice today.  I need a day to relax and recoup from mowing for three days straight.

I want to go to Lowe’s today and look at a Roto Zip to take to Texas.  I had a good time looking around Menard’s, not Lowes, and getting ideas for things that we want to do here and in Texas.  I am going to wait to buy a saw, still not sure what I want to get.  Linda is the only one that bought anything.  Dog treats etc..

We went out to eat for lunch…

Yes sir, Steak n Shake!  This was actually my idea even though Linda usually wants to go here.  They have great hamburgers!!!

The burgers were excellent and our waitress was really nice, her name is Alisha and I got a picture of her…

I have a picture of her with our desert but I didn’t want anyone to know that we splurged for a shake and an ice cream sandwich!  This was a better picture of her anyway.  I had to comment on her hair, I think it looks very nice.  She explained that she did it herself, not her own hair though.  Nice smile..

We stopped at Radio Shack and I bought another toy.  I got a recorder, well, it transfers cassette tapes to the computer. I will try it out tomorrow.

We were tired when we got home so we took a nap and then took it easy the rest of the night.  Guess it is time to say Night Y’all,,,,

Beautiful morning even if it is cool out.  The sun came up while I was listening to a tape made by Jeanie, the piano player from Harvest Time.  I turned the tape over and to my surprise it was the Harvest Time Quartet!  I had to call Jeanie and ask her for sure because I couldn’t hear Randy or myself in almost any song.  There were a couple though that I could hear a bass and Randy had a solo.  Our lead singer Cloyd passed on quite a few years back and Pastor Dalmus is alive and well and preaching up a  storm in Rock Falls, Harvest Time Bible Church.  Sure brought back memories and now I have to find a place that will make a CD from the tape.

Well, to work again today.  I am mowing the RV Park today and should be my last day.

The mowing went quite well but the last eight back in sites are terrible to mow.  Just a whole lot of work.

I finished up around three PM and headed home.  Checked to see if I could figure out where the mice are coming in (at home).  Well, I had fixed a few places and haven’t seen any since I fixed it a few days ago.  I think we still have them coming in but haven’t seen any but think once in awhile I can hear them.  Oh well, I left them plenty of  De Con.

I’m tired tonight, I think that the fresh air really makes me tired so I took a nap tonight, well, sitting in my chair, I fell asleep for awhile.

It is amazing how good the pictures turn out with my new camera.  It is doing as good a job as I can hope for with my knowledge of using a camera!

Going to take it easy tonight because I would really like to go to Cape tomorrow to Menard’s.  I like Menard’s.

Well, today is the last day of October!!  Halloween!  Not my favorite holiday for sure. 

I will work today and tomorrow and should be done for the year.  Will try to get all the mowing done and have the place looking decent for the winter. I am mowing  Russell Street today, shouldn’t take to long.  I have a picture of the tractor before I left…

It took about three hours to mow Russell Street and when I got back I had to call it a day.  I could have done more but I’m leaving it for tomorrow.

Went to church tonight, not many at church but still had a good discussion on the “sower” and the “seed”.  It was interesting.

I looked up a song on the internet I thought was called “Go Down Nineveh” but the name is actually “Go Jonah” by the Cathedrals.  It is a spoof of the song “Elvira” by the Oak Ridge Boys.  There is a song “Go Down Nineveh” by the Blackwood Brothers but nothing like Go Jonah.  I put it on my recorder and played it for Coyita and she remembered it and I think we would like to sing it next year maybe.

I got a weird picture of the moon tonight.  It is in the clouds and I think it is blurry but looks kind of neat.

Does this look like a Halloween moon?  I thought it looked kind of neat.

Well, we didn’t have any Trick or Treaters so I guess we will have to eat all the candy….
